The Walking Dead Interviews : Erin Ashe aka Molly | Bone-idle.ie

Bone-idle.ie writes "Erin Ashe plays the role of Molly who appears in Episode 4 and turns out to be one of the best characters in the game. The fast talking, no nonsense Molly is a well written strong female character and after such a confident performance it was quite surprising to discover that this is actually Erin’s first major role.

This was a great chance for us to get a different view on the industry by talking to someone who is just starting out in the profession. After such a strong start we are sure that we will be hearing a lot more from Erin in the coming years."

*Spoiler*

Molly definitely survived Episode 4 (even if you were retarded enough to accidentally shot her), so can't wait to see her again in season 2!

Btw, just did a bit of research & found out Clem is voiced by a 38 year old, Melissa Hutchison; wtf!?! Guess it would have be pretty traumatizing for a 9 year old girl to do voice work revolving around a girl losing her parents to the zombie plague, accidentally eating a person (Mark), getting cus'd at by Lee ect. ect.

You'd be surprised.
Most children, especially girls, who get involved in any kind of acting are usually very mature for their ages.

Actually true story, once knew the girl (Sophie Vavasseur) who played Angie Ashford in Resident Evil Apocalypse, she was 12 at the time; so I guess I just debunked my own theory!

The part that made me laugh was

'And how lucky were you to land such a good role straight away?'

'...my boyfriend Nick Herman, a director at Telltale, told me there was a character in episode 4 that he thought I could voice well.'

Really hoped Molly would return in Ep 5, really hope to see her in season 2, just hate waiting for it now!

Telltale Games and the New Golden Standard for Storytelling

Before the announcement that a heavily narrative focussed Walking Dead video game was announced in 2012, Telltale games was a development studio that not particularly well known. Despite putting out other similar properties with Back to the Future: The Game and Jurassic Park: The Game, the products were largely met with a very mixed and ultimately tepid response from the public. The rampant acclaim and runaway success reached with The Walking Dead launched the developer into one of the most anticipated and favourable studios out there with one revolutionary product.

I think the walking dead story telling is amazing. I really love the games and think that they bring the respect of gaming story telling up in the world of entertainment in general :)
