PlayStation Exec Talks PSN - Greenlighting 2 Gig Downloadable Games And The Problem With Demos

On the eve of the Game Developers Conference, John Hight, director of product development, Santa Monica Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment America, spent 40 minutes on the phone with MTV Multiplayer talking about the past and future of Sony's downloadable games service for PS3.

They talked about what PSN is and why its line-up has included some very unusual games.

And they talked about some of the PSN's biggest issues: pricing, size of games (a 2Gig on is coming!) and the availability - or lack thereof - of demos for every game on the service.

That is more the developer of the games who dont do the demos, it´s not psn or live´s fault that we are missing demos.

Xbox Live Arcade and PSN titles, that is a difference between the 2. Live Arcade offers a demo for every single game. PSN doesn't.

You can even configure your Xbox to auto-download the demos so you can have them to try and then upgrade from within the trial to the full version if you want.

Dope!! 2 gig games, MS has to step up their limit now. I'm glad someone sees the benefit in allowing such a size, I mean we already have 2gig demos. Looks like Sony is going to turn the PS Store into a haven for Indie devs to get their games out to the masses, and that's a win win for everyone.
