Five Things Wii-U Needs To Do To Succeed

With its launch on November 18th this year, the Wii U shot to the top of every Nintendo fan’s “must have” list… but what does Nintendo need to do to get the rest of us? (Nintendo, Wii U)

The right kind of software.

I would buy a redone Super Metroid in a heartbeat. Keep everything the same as the snes (gameplay/side-scrolling) but just give it the 3D-2D bionic commando treatment.

Please, lol @ the noobs that act like nintendon't make awesome games. Most of every generation they always have top rated games on all of their hardware, exlcuding the gamecube, and even then, they had really good software.

To all the people who aren't happy with your purchases, you should have known better, unless your a noob, that the way things are is gonna be totally different later down the road. Software updates and added features are inevitable. This console has 2 gigs of RAM, I'm pretty sure it can do as much if not more than current gen xbox and sony consoles.

most important thing to a console is good games

That's right. It's not about the most powerful.

Their list is;

1) Convince Third Party Developers To Publish For Wii U

2) Even More First Party Titles

3) Continue To Build And Improve The Nintendo Network

4) No More “Shovelware”

5) Keep Innovating

#1 will be hard to do since it's about penetrating the market. If the Wii U doesn't have the userbase they will be less likely to offer unique games with unqiue gameplay catered to the hardware. It's a catch-22. You need software to get consumers to buy it but you also need the userbase to warrant the software.

#2 Nintendo will work more with other parties like they have in the past, but I expect more of that partnership in the future. Nintendo also needs to create more new IP's.

#3 It can only get better with time. A universal reward system might hurt them though.

#4 That will be hard from happening but I hope it does

#5 Let's hope so

As long as it gets good game, it should do fine. I buy gaming consoles for game. I can't wait for a Zelda on the Wii U. That is the one game I can't wait for on the Wii U.

At first I was going to say..."Doom article after only one week", but I actually agreed with all his points, and it's not really a doom article. Only thing I would expand on is #2. Don't just give us those 1st party titles, but some new and exciting IP's as well. I know they have it in them.

I agree with what's said under number 4, the Wii had some true gems on it. It's the shovelware's fault that the Wii got itself a bad name.
