The production company's set, the director's lined up and the writers are a-writing. But what else does the Deus Ex film need to be great?
Just make it like the CG cinematic trailer... it was awesome.
I wished all games that turn to movies used high end CGI. I'd hate to see someone like Matt Damon play Nathan Drake etc. Also, with CGI, you are more connected to the character as everyone has those actors that they just dislike straight away.
Newsflash: Movies made from games *NEVER* get it right.
Because they dont follow the games story what-so-ever. When they base movies off of books, do they change the story completely? No.
I think the fact that movies are not an interactive medium just makes it that much more difficult for the movie to top a game. At least when something goes from a book to a movie, you're adding imagery to an existing work of fiction. When going from a game to a movie, there is the obvious question of why they couldn't have just made another game. The movie has to somehow make up for that fact that it is shorter than a game and lacks the interactivity (which is a huge element in DeusEx)
Exactly, but if they follow the game's story to near 100%, then there wouldn't be any actual reason to watch the movie other than see how those characters look like when they're played by real actors on screen. Videogames are an interactive medium so it's just hard to find the middle way when adapting them to movies. So the best possible way to do it is making a spinoff or a sequel rather than adapting the same exact game onto screen, which worries me a lot when it comes to Deus Ex: Human Revolution since the game has a lot of social commentary in it regarding the possible future we are moving towards, which may not be used very well or just completely disregarded in the adaptation to make it something like Robocop with even more action.
resident evil must be doing ok for the 5th movie...now max payne was the worst, tomb raider nope...never saw hitman, and wreck it ralph seems to be doing good
Step 1: Don't make it.
I wonder what CBS Films will do. Hopefully they don't put CSI writers on the script or Two and a Half Men writers. I jest. No way that would happen.
The soundtrack! The HR soundtrack was incredibly done, and really created a feel for the world. Paired with the very stylised world this could translate perfectly to the big screen, on paper at least.
http://media.pcgamer.com/fi... Damn it they should just get the art director to play Adam Jensen. He basically is Adam Jensen. He just needs to master "I Never asked for this" in a gravelly tone and make his chin beard pointier.
