PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale | Spong Review

If you’re the kind of gamer that’s up for a few beers in the front room with a couple of your pals on a Friday night, then PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale is probably going to suit you well. It’s a good laugh and can be played casually. If you’re more of a serious gamer, the cons will probably outweigh the pros. Although it is a very fun game, it’s also very frustrating at times and doesn’t quite feel complete - shallow, if you will. (PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, PS Vita, PS3) 7/10

All I can say about this albatross is Yuck. I always thought Smash Brothers series was stupid now PS has their own version of a stupid idea, Kudos. But I guess the ps needs something this holiday season first party wise.

Smash brothers was a stupid idea ?

Replace stupid with Fresh and maybe I agree.

I love the concept that Smash Bros popularized. But your opinion speaks for a few people I guess.

Shallow? Explain what could be added? At least they tried adding on some sort of story for each character instead of randomly fighting characters.

I love the game. Especially because I can jump straight to my Vita to play when family wants the TV.

What could be added? The game needs more characters and stages and unlockables and more everything. What's there is great, it's just not very varied and there isn't much of it.
That may not be the developers fault, but it's still a negative for the game in the end.

And btw the story IS them randomly fighting PS characters. I mean gee did you play Kratos story? "I will destroy Olympus but first I must kill all characters" isn't a story, it's an excuse for him to be there.

I'm primarily a playstation gamer, I barely play much else on other consoles but I'd really be kidding myself to say PS all stars is perfect. it's far, far from perfect...

Loving this game. Hopefully this creates some good competition and we see new SSB and PSAS sequels in 2013

Please do not compare these games.

You are insulting SSB.

You are insulting PSAS. Trust me. You should try playing it. This is something they're going to use in MLG.

Fanboy alert. It's not like we can't love both of them. I'm loving ASBR and I intend to continue collecting SSB as well.

Your just afraid of what the comparisons might say about the two games. Just admit it that Playstation All Stars does some things better than Super Smash Brothers. The same is true the other way around.

This game is pure fun.

The presentation and menus are a little lacking, but the gameplay is superb.

A lobby setting and rematches would make this game soooo much better.

Looking forward to what other DLC and characters get released!

Indeed this is fun as hell.

I hope Sony just come to a deal with Activision and Square and let them have percentage profit of the DLC for their respective characters that we are all longing for.

I also can't believe Old Snake is not in this. They should at least release Naked Snake from Ground Zeroes as DLC. I'd be happy with either, and then they can include skins for both.

David Hayter is the voice of the final boss in this game, ironically.
