YouTube app now available for Wii U

YouTube has now joined Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, and Netflix with its own dedicated app for Wii U. (Wii U)

After seeing the two impressively fast and stylish Netflix and Hulu apps, I was a little eager in trying the YouTube app and see how well it worked, sadly the YouTube app seems to be the weakest of the bunch (at the moment of course). Both Hulu and Netflix have completely stylish and different UI's compared to other consoles, are lighting fast, and have the option view shows and movies, on the Wii U Gamepad at any time, but for some reason YouTube doesn't allow you to view videos on the Gamepad. On a bright note YouTube on the Wii U is fairly quick, but I have a feeling that they weren't ready to launch and were forced to do so anyhow. Hopefully they update it and add the Gamepad viewing support option (like Netflix and Hulu), in the near future instead of just a description of the video. I have yet to try out the Amazon app on the Wii U but hopefully it's as good as the other two.

They can make the Wii Us YouTube app interface like the Vitas which would be great.

It's early in the consoles life cycle and I'm pretty sure they will improve the interface in the near future.

Congrats on Netflix and Huluu.
