Why Assassin's Creed II & III's Slow Starts are Brilliant

"The Assassin’s Creed games containing Roman numerals have always caught an undesired amount of flak for one aspect: the gradual ramp up that happens in the beginning or, as some extreme pessimists would say, the multiple hour borefest that precedes the stabbing. Such a point seems petty to make, especially since it sets up the following events spectacularly, better than almost any game on the market. An approach such as this shows that Ubisoft can exercise patience and gives gamers something to care about whether they know it or not."

Nicely written article, but I hated AC3, I actually finished it today, painstakingly, I honestly felt it was the most boring Assassins Creed game of them all, I really enjoyed the first......4 games, I wasnt even happy with the ending, it was as bad as Mass Effect 3s ending

Just MY opinion, if you enjoyed it, cool, I didnt, the Naval stuff was cool

Thank you sir!
To each his own I guess. I love AC3 and it's my GOTY but I'm always completely fine with someone respectfully disagreeing. :D

I linked to my review in that article, but I really liked Connor's ending and didn't like Desmond's. It was very ME3 for me as well.

I am a little shocked at how many people dislike it though, not like that's a bad thing.

Thanks for the warning. I sure would have hated to have been surprised by installing a ubisoft game on accident.

Profchaos258d ago

Because you can't play all the games on every subscription already

KillBill257d ago

Valhalla is not on GamePass.

anast257d ago (Edited 257d ago )

I like Valhalla. The others haven't aged well.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

Every Bethesda game and Every Halo game. This list needed to have Cyberpunk somewhere.
