Microsoft 'Xbox TV' device due in 2013 with casual gaming and streaming

Microsoft is building an Xbox set-top box. Multiple sources familiar with Redmond's plans have confirmed to The Verge that the company plans to introduce a low-cost alternative to its Xbox console, designed to provide access to core entertainment services. The move will allow Microsoft to further increase its presence in the living room, providing consumers with a choice between a set-top box or a full next-generation Xbox console.

And a True Next Gen Console probably at 399-449$.

Seems a good strategy sales wise.

We do not want MS dominating in anything
Just use the superior Google Fiber service that will release soon

Now if they eventually offer "quality" streaming game services to said devices first they could be a winner.

Sony - In some Finacial Situation - Keeps on giving to the core community and stays true to it's gaming roots - Is hated on and everything they do is exaggerated into big things to make them look even worse

Microsoft - Has a ton of money which they'd rather waste on marketing/casual audience/Kinect - Basicaly treats their core fans like crap, lies to them and is trying to change the gaming industry into something where they will benefit the most instead of gamers - Hardly no one says a bad word about them or questions what they are doing

Seriously whats going on this gen, if Sony did something like this last gen with the current tec they had I would of laughed and thought they were on drugs....why do something like this when theres Sky +

They don't question them for long you mean. You will get instances, like with the price increase for XBL, where a majority of voices will complain at first, but a few days later many of those same complainers will start praising MS.

Its creepy.

@Dlacy13g:
Why buy an Xbox that has media options and plays all games associated with the brand, when you can buy an Xbox that has media options and plays *SOME* games associated with the brand?

Dlacy13g1472d ago

Why buy other phones when there are iPhones? Why get this over Sky +?... Choices...options.... Consumers like these things.

"Sony - In some Finacial Situation - Keeps on giving to the core community and stays true to it's gaming roots - Is hated on and everything they do is exaggerated into big things to make them look even worse"

Because the core community is actually satisfied with MS, and only zealots thinks otherwise.

Jinkies1471d ago

I could turn around and say only MS fanboys stick up for MS.

It works both ways

nukeitall1471d ago

yup, I guess millions upon millions of people are fanboys and stick for MS?

Isn't that just customers? You know business as usual, while the little zealots cry foul.

It's like the people complaining about CoD, yet they don't realize they are actually a much larger minority that just happens to scream louder and nobody really cares.

So far people are happy with CoD, and they keep buying it over and over and over....

animegamingnerd1471d ago

and yet they bash nintendo for appealing to casuals

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney1470d ago (Edited 1470d ago )

Don't forget MS charges for multiplayer and no one dares to complain.
But hey MS had a year head start and ps3 out sold it. so things may be looking normal soon!
