This generation is closing in on its end, and so we can now look back at the biggest failures to deliver on promises and hype since 2005.
5. It wasn't the main team. We knew Bioshock 2 wouldn't be as good as the first MONTHS before it came out. 4. Who expected Sonic Unleashed to be good? 3. Spore was a good game. 2. Not a disappointment. Just another bad Devil May Cry rip-off. Many people enjoyed it, however. I didn't expect anything. 1. We'll be alright.

I must have over looked all these promises. I really enjoyed Force Unleashed. Im a sucker for SW and beat em ups though. Maybe don't be so quick to hop on the hype train?
Force Unleashed was a good game, not a masterpiece or the SW game everyone has been waiting for, but it was enough. I wouldnt call these games disappointments. Dead Island was a disappointment. Brink and Rage were disappointments. You can even call Diablo 3 and ME3 disappointments. But Sonic Unleashed? I would be surprised if it was actually good lmao
Force Unleashed was one of my favourite Star Wars games ever. My biggest issue was how short it was, I'd only just got properly into it and suddenly it finished.
Gotta say Assassin's Creed 1. Was not worth all the hype it got with its boring and repetitve gameplay. I almost didn't play AC 2 because I was afraid it would be more of the same but AC 2 improved on everything and then some.
One of the biggest disappointments was the stagnation of the industry, how most games from the last few years have been unoriginal, unimaginative, uninnovative etc. I'm glad the 7th gen is over, maybe now the 8th gen is here it'll wake developers up.
