Molyneux Announces Kickstarter Campaign For Curiosity Sequel

John Bedford (Modojo): The second experiment from Peter Molyneux's 22Cans studio has been announced. Titled GODUS, the game is a reinvention of Molyneux's classic god game Populous.

The team is seeking funding through Kickstarter for the title, with a goal of raising GBP450,000 (approx. $720,000) before the crowd-funding effort ends in 29 days. Here are the full details of the project direct from the Kickstarter page.

The story is too old to be commented.

I think we need to see some of these kickstarter titles actually release and be successful for me personally to invest in it, and for people to really start to massively invest into titles and kickstarter to really become the future for developers and make publishers obsolete.

a bunch are supposed to be released next year.

He blamed Microsoft for holding back his ideas and greatness before I wonder what he'll blame this time after he boasts features that'll never make it into the final game.

People who followed the release of the original Fable will know what I'm talking about.

I'm not the only one who has seen this:

Hope it doesnt get funded he has more then enough cash to fund his own games he is just taking money away from real indie devs. Curiosity sold 2million so they should be able to fund this on that alone plus he was a big wig at microsoft for years. Kickstarter is already attracting the wrong crowd who see it as free money for shame well was good while it lasted.

NYC_Gamer2007d ago

I agree,KS should only be used to fund real indie developers projects.

Agree^ some people are abusing it. I think they allow it for publicity. It might bite them in the azz.
