Online Piracy 101: Pirates of the Burning Sea

As previously reported by Screen Play, Telstra is distributing 100,000 free copies of Pirates of the Burning Sea to Australian gamers.

On Monday (February 18), Screen Play has part one of an extensive interview with Flying Lab Software CEO Russell Williams exploring all aspects of the massively multiplayer game.

The game has been in development since 2002, and lets players explore the 1720 Caribbean and captain your own ship, fighting and working together with thousands of other players.

The part one of the interview explores topics like the genesis of the game, some of the attractions for players, the types of missions and characters, and the ship combat.

In part two, Screen Play will look at subjects like sword fighting, trading, supernatural elements and the difficulties of attracting casual players while keeping dedicated gamers playing.
