ZombiU Review | The Globe and Mail (Toronto)

Fundamentally difficult, repetitive and boring. Playing it makes you feel like one of the zombies you're constantly whomping upside the head with a cricket bat. It's so frustrating at times, you almost wish you could take that bat to your own head. (Wii U, ZombiU) 5/10

Jeez, this one continues to polarize players into "it's good"/"it's rubbish" groups.

I can't decide. I think the whole 'map-in-your-lap' thing is cool, but why tap the screen to remove a manhole cover? It makes no sense! You might rotate it, you might lever it...but you would never tap it!

Same goes for boarded up doors; you're not hammering in nails, you're prying them off, so what's with all the tapping?!

inb4 'I'd tap that' jokes! :P

Sure there are minor flaws with the game (no game is perfect). However I am finding the game to be quite awesome. It's tense as hell, and every encounter with a zombie is a chance you're gonna die. I played for the first 30 minutes with no issues, and I was starting to think to myself that this game wasn't that hard. I then proceeded to lose 3 characters in the next 10 minutes. :P

Visually the game isn't anything spectacular, but it's got some amazing lighting effects, and the game is very spooky and atmospheric.

I am enjoying it quite thoroughly so far.
