7 Playstation classics you’ve genuinely never heard of

OPM: Think you’ve played it all? Think you’re an authority on Playstation’s early years? Have a gander at these forgotten, forbidden and fabulous PSOne gems and get back to us… (Brave Fencer Musashi, Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu, Retro, The Silver Case)

Official Playstation Magazine UK listing 7 games that weren't released in the UK and giving the header "7 Playstation classics you’ve genuinely never heard of", WTF. I could go to Japan and say, I bet you've never heard of "Yorkshire Puddings" and get no as a response, but guess what, I won't bother. This is NOT news worthy.

Didn't notice til you pointed it out! Also, what's Yorkshire pudding?

Unless I am wrong (and I am never wrong), it's a type of gardening tool.

They're great lol. Have them in roast dinners, made out of pancake batter and cooked in the oven until they rise.

Can't have a roast beef dinner without a yorkshire pudding.

If anyone is confused as to what yorkshire pudding is, should see our festive mince pies :D

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't actually play any of these games until they decided to make an article about obscure games.
JellyJelly  +   179d ago
I've still played 3 of them :)
Bimkoblerutso  +   179d ago
Yeah, I've played the three on the list that were actually available in the US, and even then, I've only played the Neverhood on PC...because IT WASN'T AVAILABLE ON THE PLAYSTATION IN NORTH AMERICA.

What a dumb list.

Other titles aside, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Jade Cocoon, are both fairly well known titles.

indeed, played and loved both.

they should put carnage heart in there. it was such a unique, awesome, and challenging game

what the hell? brave fencer mushashi?? seriously? it's like saying tomba is not popular.
MilkMan  +   178d ago
Played all of these man. Get your list straight. I think I still have Brave Fencer under my bed somewhere.

I played The Neverhood! It was pretty good, but never got far. The claymation style was awesome.

The only ones on that list that I hadn't heard of were the Japan only ones. I had picked up Jade Cacoon back then because I thought it looked like a Studio Gibli movie, but IMO the game itself wasn't very good. My nephew had that Bave Fencer game, but I never got it myself, though I played his copy. I remember reading about The Neverhood, but never came across a copy of it in the stores. If you had a PSX during it's gen and were serious about gaming, I think it's highly unlikely that you hadn't heard of all the games on this list that received a western release.
