Kotaku - My copy of Skyrim would usually fall over once I started running more than, say, 8-10 mods at once. So I've got no idea how modder Unreal has managed to get around 100 mods running at once. I'm just going to assume sorcery.
Playstation 3 version looks better then this.
If you were to try running this level of detail on the PS3 you wouldn't even be able to measure it in FPS anymore. It would be SPF.
lol @ you for thinking i was being serious
Don't worry lol i knew you were joking. You would need to be either blind as a bat or immensely stupid to actually believe that so it was quite obvious. Also none of the disagree's on either of your comments were from me.
Hate to break your heart fellow PC gamer, but the maker of the grass mod states clearly that he gets '5 to 30' fps with his mods on. At 1280 by 720. On a PC with an overclocked gtx 670. Here read the FAQs: http://www.asot.es/2001/09/... There's a reason these are still screen captures, kekekeke.
@flavor Also the gameplay with an ENB mod is not very good very blurry most of the time, but the visuals are indeed very good
@Mocat ENB's blur effect NEVER looked good. I always hated it. Even when I was getting 30+ FPS the blur made the game feel like it was 15FPS trying to feign 30fps. It hurt my eyes and did nothing for the game. I guess Vorontsov just likes adding in blur for testing purposes, but it has yet to have any "real-world" purpose in improving the visual quality or gameplay immersion for any game.
Flavor: You can turn that down slightly and get 50+ fps on a typical gamer's PC. This is not the most taxing mod out there.
Guys, i'm almost 150% sure he was kidding.
@Flavor If you're implying that mods that enhance graphics tend to cripple frame rates, that's not necessarily true. Some definitely do, but then again some in-game options built into games like ubersampling in The Witcher 2 show very modest benefits yet can easily cut the frame rate in half. On the other hand, some of the mods I've used with Skyrim have dramatically improved the visuals at a very modest performance cost. 100 demanding mods of course is going to be rough, but I don't have a problem running Skyrim with some decent mods with a single card. http://steamcommunity.com/s... http://steamcommunity.com/s...
LOL SPF made my day!
Hope playstation 4 looks like that ...
Unlikely, but i've found graphics that will problably be close to what we can expect from bethesda:
the grass most likely not, lighting and textures could depending on the developer of course
@andibandit Was that picture taken after the fourth patch?
don't get your hopes up with bethesda always get their games on PC otherwise avoid buying them at launch and take extra caution if you are buying ps3 version. hopefully with the next gen the incompetent developers over at bethesda maybe able to make a game that would actually work. it is really unfortunate that this is the case since i like the elder scrolls.
@Dasteru ^ Good lol. People really lose their sense of humor when its about a gaming console. Its just scary
Said no one with working eyes, ever. The Ps3 is the weakest of all the versions.
oh my eyes...this is beyond crazy next generation consoles would not be able to pull those graphics this is amazing
PCs will in about 5-6 years though as standard. A top range PC could just about do it now with huge overclocks. So a gamer PC in about 2 years could do this. Thats just after the launch of PS4 and Xbox 720 PC graphics could potentially be this good.
N4G can not into sarcasm
Ya don't wiiU games look this good ?
Why do so many people disagree? That was a funny comment my man!
yea 37 ps3's duct taped together.
Looks incredible. The art style actually sorta reminds me of halo actually, obviously at a much higher level of course.
Kinda went crazy with the bloom and depth of field there, but it is pretty, I'll say.
This one looked legit! Coulda fooled me! http://img.gawkerassets.com...
That picture looks like vanilla skyrim. On PC.
My computer can't even run those screenshots :(
@DoomeDx no it doesnt the reg graphics still suck on the pc . They are miles better than PS3/xbox but they dont look like that
The only thing that stood out was the realistic "looking" grass lol
Co-ordinating that many mods in simultaneous tandem must have been an absolute nightmare. From my experience, sometimes you can just install two mods and endure catastrophic problems from their irksome incompatibilities. Still, the fruits of his efforts are undeniable - low FPS or not, that is some serious eye candy.
Couple years and we have the hardware to actually run Skyrim with these mod properly.
@Finch It's not that bad actually. At least you can use "Texture Pack Combiner" which reduces the amount of coordinating a lot. These are my screenshots from Skyrim running at 50-60 frames/sec. http://steamcommunity.com/i...
When's the last time you ran mods? In Skyrim I just install whatever the f*** I want and it pretty much works without flaw (unless of course you download clearly conflicting mods).
Pretty awesome! I have to run skyrim on all the lowest graphic settings :( So I'll just try to live vicariously through these photos.
Oh.....My.......God. this is amazing.
this comment go well with the avatar
LOL... I guess it dose
I love the way Unreal's Skyrim looks and the ENB is stellar as well. Part of what sets Unreal apart though is personal enb settings tweaks and does extra mod work on top of it to perfect the desired look. Granted not all textures are unique but Unreal is willing to put in time to alter some bases (grass was last I know about).
Ah feels good to be able to run the game looking as good as it does with mods. Master Race checking out.
Gorgeous. I wish I had a PC that could run this without my desktop exploding the instant I started the game.
I think I may have died and gone to Skyrim O.O
O.O Wish it was mine thats amazing.
Anyone care to join me in building a time machine so we can go into the *hopefully* not too distant future (i.e. 2020) where we have consoles that can run this properly?
That'll be the end of the PS4/720 lifespan. Better make it 2025.
Skyrim PC http://www.youtube.com/watc... Skyrim Console http://www.youtube.com/watc...
You are right, the Console version does look superior. It beats KZ2 as well in the best graphics on PS3.
rofl Got to love the console people though that think the current gen consoles are comparable to a decent pc. Actually, I feel bad for the console people. No mods :shudder:, that well and truly sucks.
Is this real life?
or just a fantasy?
Grass density, your doing it right.
I guess CryTek's following the grass fad too xD j/k http://www.youtube.com/watc...
How much would a pc that could run this cost? Im looking for a new pc to run these mods without problems
A lot most of the mods wont have too bad of an impact, but the grass setup will probably slaughter most machines, Idk. $1000 machine would probably handle it pretty good,, keeping in mind skyrims pretty un optimized.
Ah ok, i think ill buy a nice tv first then, would be a waste of money to buy a pc for 500€ when it cant handle mods like these.
I don't get the point of doing all this, yeah it looks pretty in pictures, but if you're only getting 5-30 fps, what is the point? It is unplayable with fps like that.
Granted the screenshots are amazing, this isn't playable. I currently run 130 mods at once, 70+ bring graphics, enb effects and HD textures. Its not as beautiful, but it is playable on 1080 ultra settings, rarely dipping to 30 FPS with a stock GTX 680m, yes I'm using a laptop.
