Alex Mason vs. David Mason- Which Character is More Likable?

With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last week players naturally compare this title to the original Black Ops game. One of the largest comparisons that can be made about the game is between the previous protagonist Alex Mason and the new protagonist, his son, David Mason. These two characters are in the same family and have similarities but they also have some huge differences. Putting all other characters aside, which of these characters do players find more interesting and connectable in the Black Ops series? Is it Alex Mason that players tend to like to play as more or does his son surpass him on the ‘cool scale’ in the recent release, Black Ops 2?

Alex Mason is the coolest character in the COD series, him and woods in my opinon. Woods is cool as a young guy and an old guy. Keeping away from sopilers for anyone who hasnt finished Black Ops 2, David Mason just does somthing toward the end that makes him seem so much less of a badass... not to mention him falling out of that tree and practically crying about it as a kid.

I like the way Treyarch created their characters as opposed to IW. They are more believable and credible than those super war heroes of the Modern Warfare series. I mean, Woods is kinda an a*shole (a badass one, but still) and gets the fate he deserves in my playthrough. Mason (father) is also a d*ck with his son and Menendez isn't the villain that hates America "just because" like Makarov or Zakhaev.

In my opinion the voice acting in Black Ops 2 is "choppy" compared to the original Black Ops. In the original Black Ops the voice acting was perfect, Hudson, Mason, Woods, Weaver, Reznov, Dr. Clarke, Bowman and all of them sounded awesome.

Hudson's voice change pissed me off the most, why change his voice when it was already badass?!

Maybe Ed Harris didn't accept the job. I remember him saying in an interview that he was kinda annoyed to do a video game voice over because he had to record all these in-game lines like "cover me!", or "reloading!"...

yeah Alex.s fate is kinda disappointing but there is one thing for a black ops 3... DUN DUN DUN, the return of Resnov/rasnov, we have no idea what happened to him and the return of rasnov somehow would be epic although i don't seem him being in 2025, i mean he is already old during black ops 1 era and since woods is like 90 i don't seem him in the future but he definatley needs to make a comeback for real no number illusions

Alex's fate depends on the player's choice. But yeah, mine died too (it's too much of a temptation to place a headshot for a FPS player :p).
