Well besides the exclusive Bayonetta 2 release and Pikmin 3, Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime expressed that he would like to see GTA V coming to the Wii U. This is what he had to say..
(Grand Theft Auto V, Industry, Next-Gen, Nintendo, Wii U)
Well who wouldn't want one of the biggest selling and well reviewed franchise to appear on the Wii U or any console. I think what Nintendo need to do is increase the install base enough to warrant Rockstar to want to put the time and money into porting it. If done in a reasonable time period then GTA V will no doubt appear on the Wii U
It has to be released at the same time as the PS3/360 version or at least announced before the release and released at the same time as the PC version. To sway customers from buying it on one of the other consoles.
"does any have proof to say otherwise on why this would be impossible?"
Nope. Welcome to N4G.:)
Seriously though, Nintendo should bag a GTA game in some way or another. Some developers have said that it's fast and fairly cheap to port games to the Wii U, so Rockstar wouldn't need to sell many copies to profit.
Chinatown Wars sold 1M on DS, so there's obviously a market on Nintendo for GTA.
"does any have proof to say otherwise on why this would be impossible?" We'll yes it's called common sense. You really expect Rockstar to spend the money and time creating a new world or story just for a new platform. It's different for a DS game and a console game in cost. The set pieces would have to re done which would cost a fortune and would take a while. What you said is really wishful think that will never happen
If a Wii U came out at the same time as the PS3/Xbox 360 versions, or at within that release window, I don't see why not. I see great potential and use for a map on the GamePad's display! Plus, GTA V available for all three consoles is a plus for everyone! We all know that the Wii U CAN suppose the game. I say it should happen! :D
What a coincidence, so do I. You know, Reggie, looks like we've got a lot in common. Another N4G article already mentions something about GTA V on WiiU and PC right off the bat. Come on Reggie, push those devilish good looks of yours and sway the vote your way.
port it and they will come really, what are rockstar thinking? they must hate money or something. why do they make gta games for nintendo ds, but not for the nintendo home console? do they really think the handheld demographic is any different to the console one, in relation to who wants gta?
i'l make it simple-port the game to wiiu. plus people will get to play the game in new ways on the controller. it could be the ultimate version.
i can think of many ways the screen could be used. 'cell' phone anyone?
It's not worth it to 3rd parties. 3rd party games sell like trash on Nintendo consoles. . 3rd parties are just cashing in on the launch due to the lack of titles in general. . They will monitor it of course, but if the 3rd party games sell bad. Well there goes 3rd party support. Which at the current moment is luke warm at best.
I think Nintendo is trying to kill off Sony in the gaming industry. They smell blood. That's why Sony reps expressed a lot of good luck towards Nintendo for the Wii U, it's like they're saying, don't shoot me, I want to live!
I don't think it will come anytime soon, Why would r* spend all that time and money on a wii u port?
There isn't enough wii u consoles owned by people to justify the money it would cost.....yet.
Even if loads of wii u were sold, doesn't mean it would be worth it because most people would already own gta5 for 360/ps3, and wouldn't buy the same game again unless they did something special with the game pad, which takes us back to spendature again.
Rockstar hasn't developed anything for wiiU or at least so far. I only see a port months down the line way after the ps3 and 360 release. Please Nintendo with the help of Rockstar , prove me wrong!
I suspect most people will have bought it already before they would have it ready for Wii-U. It will probably still be profitable for Rockstar/Take2 but they might think differently, at the very least their programmers may be needing to get used to the hardware anyway (and it doesn't seem vastly different from the 360's hardware). I suspect it will eventually release for Wii-U; sales on PC will be better though despite potential piracy.
My opinion and only time will tell.

He'll need every third party game Nintendo can muster. Especially given the mediocrity of their last bet with ZombiU...
Gabe Newell will ask for pc version?
Will see what WiiU new features will give as a plus to GTA!
