In game I haven't noticed. Screenshots are much more telling. Sure it's not Uncharted level of visuals, but the game is really, really dark and more about gameplay than visuals. The controls take a while to get used to, but it is a really cool game. To me it's more of a 7.5 - 8.5 range. Everyone talking about the game on Miiverse likes it too. It's like Dark Souls and Left 4 Dead had a baby.
I have to agree with you on all your points and also mention that considering I was already mentally ready to call the gamepad a gimmick this game ended up making me a believer instead.
The way the gamepad is used really does add to the gameplay and fear in the game. Between using it as a scope for guns and scanning your environment it seems to me at least to draw you more into the game's world.
I know not everyone was a fan of Sega's Condemned games but if you are (I loved them) then I'm pretty sure you'll like/love Zombi U. It's actually jump-out-of-your-underwear scary at times.
But next gen refers to a new gpu no? wiiU games look better than wii games. But not much better than ps3 or xbox.
I wonder if by sometime next year will a wiiU game beat uncharted? Nintendo don't push hardware they never have. Even there zelda tech demo looks current gen.
Why the disagree's. If I cared all that much about graphics I would play games on my PC.. Besides I didn't buy the WiiU for it's graphics I bought it to finally play Nintendo games in high def
Majority of people gaming since the old days, waiting till the next cosole wave came in, were dying to see the improvement in graphics the next wave of consoles pushed out. Deny it, omit it, reject it all you want graphics play a big role. I also doubt that has changed much.
Dont bring up "then why does cod sell a lot" as that game sells to little kids, that will tell you its graphics are amazing and can't wait to see how it would look like next gen if asked.
This game would score higher probably if there weren't so many zombie games out there to choose from. Zombies are getting played out in my opinion and this score reflects the boredom the genre is starting to induce.
