Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Blows Up in the UK

Push Square: "It may have only taken five months to put together, but Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is already throwing its weight around the UK sales charts. The handheld spin-off developed by Nihilistic Software shot straight into 16th position on this week’s best-sellers list, becoming the second biggest PlayStation Vita launch in Britain since the system’s debut in February. Launch title Uncharted: Golden Abyss still remains the release to beat." (Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, PS Vita)

Glad to hear people are liking it despite bad reviews all over the place...I haven't played it but its good news for the vita if it sells well

i did not see this coming. never realised people in the uk showed any interest in the vita i have a friend who bought it and sold it soon after. i'm also glad to see its doing well, the vita is an impressive piece of tech albeit an expensive one. i hope sony really pushes the idea of crossplatform play when the ps4 comes out it will completely and entirely destroy the wiiU screen/controller thingy whatever they decide to call it.

i think the one game that will make the PSVita explode in japan mainly but also world wide is an exclusive new MonsterHunter game. i would expect sony to pull it off maybe next year otherwise it would be a wasted opportunity.

How can you call the Vita expensive when phones are sold at £500 these days.

naaah , i want these games in vita , wether they are port or not , i will buy them the moment they release them :

gta / mirror edge / tekken / cod 4 / gt

just imagine playing tekken tag tournament 2 online in vita , it's just crazy >.< , it would be really really fun playing against my brother ...

Man, I feel bad for those people who are probably expecting a console-like Black ops.

Oh well, maybe they'll enjoy it.

Should have bought Gravity Rush instead though :P

Unless they're people with brains that realize that it's a handheld and not a console
Blastoise  +   681d ago
A handheld that prides itself on console standard games like Uncharted, Need for speed, Street fighter versus tekken and Assassins creed.

You put too much faith in the mass market

The Vita can easily handle console quality games, and at 50 bucks we expect it to come pretty damn close. The handheld excuse is ridiculous, declassified might have cod controls and gameplay, but it has the content of a phone game.

I see your probably saying that because of the price, bod should be $30 title.

But gravity rush is not the same type of game is it.

I keep hearing the multiplayer is good and most of the reviews are based on the campaign
medziarz  +   681d ago
it's became another mass hysteria to bash this game - somehow it became trendy to give it 3/10

similar situation to Duke Nukem Forever

There's no future for the Wii U, it's dead on arrival, its traditional market has now been dominated by PS3 and 360s, the price is high and additional expensive storage is needed.
It's very tough for the consumer to justify a new system that's going to cost him around $400, and $60 for each game, when there are cheaper PS3s with the same functionality and hundreds of stellar games for 10, 20 dollars and whole series for $40.

NOW REPLACE THE WORD
Wii U with PS Vita
PS3 with smartphone
and 360 with tablet
adjust the prices and there u have it,

It's very tough for the consumer to justify a new system that's going to cost him around $270, and $40 for each game, when there are cheaper touch-screen devices with the same functionality and hundreds of good games for $2.

Suppose a bit of MP on the train or the bus to or from work is what this is for I guess. Or that's what I'd buy it for anyway.

They could have stamped COD on a turd and squashed it into a box and it still would've made the top ten.
