Techtorial: Wii U is now out-of-stock on most online retailers across United States. Unfortunately, it also means its price now is inflated to as much as 50%. Here's another option for eager customers.
option for parents..dont buy this at inflated price just wait for couple of months your kids wont miss it and you can teach your kids to save up and ask tasks, so by the time they save up wii u would be available as a price for them
Doesn't this always happens when a new consoles come out? They sell out in the beginning and then people hike the price up through eBay or Craigslist. This isn't the first time
Only when they are in short supply. The only systems going for inflated prices in the UK for most recent launches have been 360 and Wii since you could still get PS3, 3DS and Vita everywhere.
people are ridiculous. I'm seeing people on kijiji selling the 8gb wiiu for $600!?!? on average! one I saw for $900!! wow!! all I can say is that whoever buys it at that price is stupid. I don't care if you have money coming out of your ass, if you buy a wiiu for $600, your an idiot.
I picked up a wii-u today only becuz it was the last one in stock. I don't even like Mario. After reading the account forever being tied and 5gb forever firmware download update and this that I decided not to open the box. Anyone want my wii-U? I Got the receipt on hand :)
I see plenty on ebay selling for about $500, and that's for the deluxe version and with shipping. with ebay/paypal fees eating about $60-$70, flippers are not really making much profit here.
Craigslist is posting 1,000
I don't know where you are at, here in LA I see many for sale for less than $450, and that's for deluxe. http://losangeles.craigslis...
I say good then. While I don't find anything wrong with flipping a system, it was kind of annoying reading people being proud of making a huge profit while others that wanted the system weren't able to get a reserve. Although realistically those flippers probably only made up a small percentage of the total pre-orders. Still this could all change by tomorrow as the reality sets in that they may be really hard to find. I know the manager at the GS I bought my system at said she expected to get a lot of angry customers over the next few weeks.
I live in chicago
It kind of seems like Nintendo is deliberately withholding stock like they did with the Wii. Most of the places I've called claimed that they're not going to be receiving more systems until mid-December, which is actually a pretty crazy turn-around time.
What is this their first console launch? prices are always inflated online after new consoles launch.
Was just about to say that. I remember when I wanted to get a new PS3 at launch (couldn't find it in store) so I looked on Ebay. $1000 + Shipping? Hell no!
After all the times Best Buy has said they've had a product online, then sent me an e-mail within a day or two saying they didn't actually have it, I won't order from them anymore. Best Buy Business says they have Wii U's... somehow I doubt they'd fulfill the order.
That's weird I went to 4 different stores Christmas shopping today and all of them had Wii U in stock I was slightly tempted to nab one but will probably wait till bayonetta or a new Zelda comes out.
The Wii U will not be sold out like the Wii did, Nintendo made that clear. They made more than enough this time around. My walmart in particular told me today that the first shipment was purposely small for some reason I could only imagine. They are supposed to received 36 more by Tuesday. So I don't think it's a rerun of the Wii. I walked in to my walmart at midnight and got the deluxe without any lines or waiting. Stay calm and Wii U-On.
They were small in order to maintain stock for black Friday. Having some on hand for that day will get a lot of people into the store if it becomes the "must have" item this year.
