Microsoft stated that it generated $220m in its first 24 hours, which is more than Halo 3 and Halo: Reach generated in their 1st 24 hours on sale. It was cheaper than Halo 3 and Halo: Reach (as they both had $150 legendary editions, whereas this only had an $80 limited edition) and it only sold marginally better than both of them (according to VGChartz). So either VGChartz has undertracked it by about 300k units or Microsoft included the console bundle in its revenue figures.

God of War: 317k Uncharted 2: 296k Assassin's Creed 3 (PS3): 577k Resident Evil 6 (PS3): 311k Fable III: 266k Final Fantasy XIII (PS3): 449k LBP 2: 146k Gran Turismo 5: 991k Gears of War 3: 700k
These are all blockbuster games and Halo 4 outsold basically all of them in Europe, except GT 5, but that was expected due to Europes love for cars. close to 1 million in Europe alone in one week is pretty big IMO.

To put it in perspective, Gran Turismo isn't as popular in US as it is in Europe. Think Halo popularity in Europe is similar to Gran Turismo popularity in the US.
So you are basically comparing one's strong region (GT5) with a a weak one (Halo 4).
Well if I had a 360 you can bet I'd get Halo over Cod any day. And so what if it surpassed it, it doesn't make it a better game. I prefer Uncharted over COD and Uncharted doesn't sell like COD does. Just enjoy games and leave it at that is what I say. Game on!
looks like diablo 3 (6.3 million in first week, 12 million sales so far, about 20 million lifetime is totally possible) and black ops 2 gonna sweep this year, but halo 4 is a great game, i snagged the 360 halo 4 limited edition console, think i'm gonna return though, put about 25 hours in it, no other games i want are gonna be on 360 and not pc, get my $370 back, thanks target!
I think it's a pretty awesome game. Lots of different multiplayer games to play. I like Flood mode where u become a monster. I think it will get a lot more sales in December leading up to Christmas :)
I usually buy a new Halo game when it's released simply because all my buddies get it so it's the game everyone is gonna be playing for the next few months. But within a few weeks I'll usually just drop out. This time is different though, barely touched the campaign but I've been playing online a hell of a lot more than I have the previous Halo games, there's a great variety in the modes and the maps are all great (Spartan Ops still lags like hell for me though). Fair play to 343, I was gonna get BLOPS2 but Halo has my multiplayer needs sorted for the next few months.
Except Halo was one of the best selling games on the consoles last gen. And considering Xbox has a FIFTH of the marketshare PS2 had... yea. Obviously, if Uncharted was on PS2 which has sold more than PS3, it would have sold a bit more.
who actually cares if cod sold more or if gt sold more or if uncharted sold less if you like halo, get halo, if you like cod, get cod, if you like uncharted, get uncharted, i dont think most users of this site relise how simple this is, just because A sells more than B does not mean A is better, wiifit sold more than the mentioned games above combined, is it better than any? imo from playing it, no, you people need to stop sucking the sales stick
If Halo 4 experiences similar week-on-week percentage changes as Battlefield 3 and MW3 (both are FPS's which were both released at a similar time last year) then it should sell 7.5m+ by years end. VGChartz will be very interesting in the coming weeks...
Love the game, but not the lag. They should have used dedicated servers and a better national filter. I do not want to play with players from Sweden, or Australia etc. for obvious connection reasons.

I am getting sick of people bringing up sales comparisons to BO and what not. They do not matter. Halo 4 is superior where it matters.
Biggest launch ever for any exclusive game, bigger than this only Call of Duty.
Uncharted LOL that game sells well but compared to Halo or GT isnt nothing.
Plus the biggest sellers are always FPS/DRIVING.
For a tps, just like gears. It's sold very well.
Were Uncharted from a gen ago, I think it would have easily been a good few million more.
The sales for Uncharted and Gears are closer than some people think.
