Arguably one of the most anticipated releases of 2012, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is Treyarch’s second entry into Black Ops series, and so far things are looking great. The game has already made $500 million after just one day of sales, and that’s not including all digital pre-orders and purchases.
Following the Wii U and 3DS servers being taken offline, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts are officially dead.

Well regardless of exclusives, or whatever else there is to play on Xbox or ps, CoD has has still been the top selling game on ps platform since forever also.....so no surprise that the most popular game franchise on any console could easily have a revival due to servers coming back online...this is just credit to xbox backwards compatibility & thats good thing for Xbox gamers.

Shooters is what Xbox people play most of the time and that’s about it by the numbers and sales of games.
Unreal Tournament and Quake III were simply amazing ... CoD's and CoD-likes' rise killed the arena shooter popularity ...
Unreal Tournament 2004 is my favorite in the series.
Didn't enjoy Unreal Tournament III, Quake Champions that much.
Too bad Epic cancelled Unreal Tournament 2014 becoz of Fortnite
I got hooked on the QIII Urban Terror mod (and my work colleagues I introduced them to)... LAN Sessions at the closing of the doors at work, into the night , sinking beers and eating pizza..... Good times.

CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.

I agree it’s worthy at the start of the generation when there’s few new generation games but halfway through the generation it’s not a feature.
Now it’s good that this game is finding a renewed life for its fan but it shows a mayor flaw in new games release when a close decade old game is toppling the charts
I don't know if I understand what you mean. It's a feature regardless of the time into the generation.
Let's take Armored Core 6 for example. Let's say I'm interested in checking out the previous Armored Core games, sure would be nice if I could play them on my current-gen console.
We're about 3 years into current-gen and old games are hitting in the top 5 for sales charts in the month.
I do get where you're coming from with older games possibly being better than the newer games, but the feature stays the feature. I can only speak for myself, but when there's a lull in game releases or nothing great is out, I like to go back to old titles. It's just nice to not have to have a bunch of consoles out to do so.
I think moving forward it'll be less and less of an issue as like with the PS5 you can access most all of the PS4 games, but I like going back to PS1 and PS2. Would be awesome to kind of make backwards compatibility a prioritized feature moving forward. Hell, Sony was the first to implement it.
Well unlike console gamers they have alot more shooters on pc, and some of those shooters are still supported by devs or community. Pc gamers that find a shooter they love dont need to find a new game when the game they have been enjoying still has new content and great online community.
If a console gamer wants that kind of experience they have to buy the sequel every year
but the pc version is 1920x1080 with 16x aa and dx11
the console version is 1024x600 with jaggies everywhere, low res awful textures, muddy, hideous blur filters, awful connectivity and all around an inferior version
it takes me less than 30 sec to get in a game on pc
just because more people are playing on console doesn't allude to quality in any way
the pc version is far and away superior to the console version in every way, shape and form, like all games that appear on all platforms, the pc version shines immensely, the console versions are a pale shadow!

I won't get Call of Duty on PC because it just seems like the type of game that will be completely exploited by glitchers and hackers on PC. Battlefield started to get that way and I quit playing that as well. But just the general maturity level of most Call of Duty players leads me to believe that PC Call of Duty would just be a complete waste of money. I did however just buy it for the Wii U, hopefully it plays well on the Wii U, but for PC I'll stick to BF or CS for shooter, but I don't play shooters to much on PC as I enjoy playing games like Skyrim, Fallout, GTA IV, and Witcher 2 on PC and soon Far Cry 3, can't wait for that one!

61,000 that's Team Fortress 2 dam near at any time of the day on Steam and TF2 is like 5 years old!
PC Gamers are just NOT interested in Call of Duty especially seeing how we have lots and lots of Free 2 Play games that are TOTALLY BETTER than Black Ops 2!
Planetside 2 (New Conglomerate 4 Life) which made BF3 irrelevant on the PC is the best thing going along with Firefall and the upcoming Hawken plus many many other twitch and RTS/FPS games like Tribes:Ascend and Natural Selection 2!
And as Previously mentioned Team Fortress 2 has a large community even after 5 years! Lots and Lots of FPS on the PC but good thing the PC has so many Gamers cause if it didn't then Blops2 PC would have no community!
