Wii U Friends List is Limited to 100

GV: As the system is now available in North America we have more information about it. (Wii U)

Man I was really hoping they wouldn't do this. It's the same as the 3DS. The Wii U doesn't have the memory limitations of the 3DS so storing as many friends as I want shouldn't be impossible. This is especially bad since Nintendo is trying make Miiverse like a social network. A social network doesn't make me limit the amount of friends I have. Can't say that I'm not disappointed by this.

Hope they increase the limit in the future via an update or something.

I don't think it is currently a crucial problem. I mean, the console is brand new, so how many friends you gonna find and add immediately with a Wii U?

I would hope and expect that once Nintendo settle down and have a stable online system they will be able to increase the size of the list within a couple of years.

Pretty much what Microsoft did too. Seriously how many people are you gonna find with such a limited number of games right after launch?

Why would you have over a hundred friends on ANY console lol? You would have constant notifications of people signing in and out not too mention how could you even remember who everyone is?
I would only need about 20....forever alone :(

I have gotten close to maxing out my list on PSN. I don't know about other systems, but the PS3 lets you disable notifications. Also, I play a variety of genres, series, and games; it would be nice to never have to worry if I can have a good party on me at any given time for any given game. In fact, I wish games let you create a friends list just for that game so you always have someone to play with.

I haven't seen the official on the friends deal. Can someone answer a few questions?

Are they using Friendcodes still? Can you finally make an online name and stick with it? How close is their community to PSN/Live in terms of chatting, messaging, and being connected?

@FACT
Excellent news. Thanks man.

Not botherd by this at all 100 is enough plus you can just remove people you don't play with anymore.
