In a year filled with reports of falling revenues and closures for arcades, the AOU Amusement Expo managed to go way hardcore, with a packed lineup of fighting sequels.
Held for the press at the Makuhari Messe on the outskirts of Tokyo on the 15th, with a public day scheduled for the 16th, the highlight of this year's event was found in Capcom's booth. As reported earlier in a hands-on story, Street Fighter IV was the reason to be at this year's event. Initially, Capcom let players line up freely behind any of the 12 available cabinets, but a couple of hours in, and an actual single line was set up. Attendees were still forced to wait for over an hour at some points.
