Wii U: Could Asymmetric Multiplayer Work for Zelda?

GenGAME writes: "When we were first introduced to the Wii U GamePad, I remember a lot of Zelda fans wondering whether the controller’s built-in screen would lead to some kind of Four Swords redemption that wouldn’t require a bunch of sold-separately handheld and extra connection cables for cooperative questing.

"While I’m totally down for using the GamePad for co-op Zelda, I’ve just got to say… why do they have to use it to make a new Four Swords? Why not leverage the GamePad to offer an asymmetric cooperative experience?" (The Legend of Zelda, Wii U)

Multiplayer or not, i just want the Next Zelda to play like a Zelda game. It shouldn't change the gameplay completely like in the DS zeldas, where you had to touch the screen to move link or so on.
I think what originally drove me to the franchise, back in the days of OoT, was the vastness and sense of exploration that could be found in the game, which is something that games like Skyrim has now occupied. Zelda games need to be grittier and maybe even scarier, if they want people like me to feel astounded once again!
