G4TV-New Super Mario Bros. U Review -

G4:New Super Mario Bros. U is a solid game, but one whose core experience is as conservative as can be and the level design, graphics, and sound are nearly identical to previous entries. The co-op features, however, are excellent, as are the new challenge modes. (New Super Mario Bros. U, Wii U) 3.5/5

I honestly think Mario games are getting just a wee bit repetitive. I grew up on these platforming games and they're quite often fun, the only problem is there's only so much that can be done to generate a solid fun factor game after game. After a while, it's nothing revolutionary, just more of the same and they tend to lose that magic that makes them so fun initially, for me at least. A lot of game franchises play it safe though, they give their fans more of what they want because that's what sells. Haven't played it but I would bet it's at least an 8, this score equates to a 7 which is average. I'm sure this game is above average, probably not amazing though.

To be fair, when it comes to Mario platformers, it's the New Super Mario series that plays it safe. But the 3D Mario platforming games are always spectacular, and bring truly new stuff to the table. Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, the Galaxy series and Mario 3D Land are all top-notch 3D platforming games, and all of them play pretty differently between them.

I know what your saying, but this review is the lowest score I have seen for this game. I have seen it at 9.5 out of 10. I really was not too excited about this game to be honest, but now after reading what people are saying about it, I am going to have to break down at try it. I would rather have a new Sunshine or Galaxy!

I rarely have someone to play games here in person so id be playing this solo for the most part.. My girl hates it when i play games too cuz i dont pay her attention so idk if id enjoy this as much as someone who has a family in the house to play with the kids... Nintendo land either.. Ill fight for my game time for games like Borderlands, Tomb Raider, etc but not this..
