In an interview with Nikkeibp.co.jp, Yoichi Wada, CEO of Square-Enix has said that "Dragon Quest IX, and the FFXIII are going to be released in the same fiscal year if possible."
For Japan that is, obviously.
I hope for a simultaneous world wide release sometime in Holiday Season 08.
I waited like 7 months for FFXII after Japanese release and not sure about Europe. The only game Square has definitely said simultaneously release has been "THE LAST REMNANT" which might be their first Simultaneous RPG Release. Would be nice..though
lol that quote says ABSOLUTELY nothing. But i will speculate too... FF will come out some time this winter in Japan and early next year in the states. I dont think it will be a global release.
it says if possible, so that tells me one thing they are working hard on the game and its not completed yet so people saying they are waiting for ps3 to sell more are probably wrong.
Whoever thinks that would be mistaken since these games would sell systems like h4wt cakes the install base would'nt be an issue, PS3 is selling well these days anyway. Edit: @ games4fun I hear yah I just never agreed with those folks theory.
this because there were articles on N4g months ago that stated it
early 09. leaving KILLZONE 2(yes i think its not gonna make 08) kingdom hearts 3, eight days, god of war 3 and all that other good stuff for 09.
Kingdom Hearts 3 definitely isn't coming in '09. It is very possible vsXIII is a late '09 release and the team that develops Kingdom Hearts is working on vsXIII so that isn't possible. I believe we'll start getting info on KH3 in '09 or '10 and possibly a release in '11 or '12. Then again I could be wrong and a miracle might happen. lol
lol if only......
Studying the trends closely, I realized that consoles do their real sales during the holidays. I would of course love to see this holiday 08 worldwide. But if not, then I would rather it be holiday 09 than an mid year release in 09. That's a waste. It's already stupid enough that MGS4 didn't make it for a holiday.
I always enjoy your comments and think your bubble count is too low.
How can you even dare to say Final Fantasy XIII can come out at holidays 2009 :| seriously....
Wasn't FFXIII already confirmed to have a simultaneous release date? That means US and Japan. Why are you still debating this?
make it happen.
This all seems like alot of speculation. There havent been any gameplay video's yet, so guestimating a release date as an outsider seems silly.
If Square are smart, they are localizing the game for the US and European markets while developing FFXIII.
I think as long as there is a good bit of room between the two like Dragon Quest early fall and and FFXIII around Christmas with a PS3/FFXIII bundle also that would be great and I think they could do it. I think they plan for a worldwide release for FFXIII I'm not sure but it would sell millions in no time though.
FFXIII will be mid 09 id guess
That's it. When the cake is baked it will come out of the overn. You cannot make better prediction than that if you're not a S-E insider.
Already as is i am trying to cut games from my 2008 list games that i know of already but then again i am not a FF fan. My brother on the other hand worships it.
i think i will deffinetly come to japan maby u.s here in jolly ol england mayby the year 2014 lol joke but seriosly us brits wated ages for ff12 lol compared to the rest lol heres hopin we get it at the same time lol
guys guys guys, FFXII was in development for over 2 years, and that "easy" PS2 dev. FF CC for the PSP was in dev for 3 years. FFXIII on the PS3, OMG, i'll be lucky if its realease this decade! i cant wait, but SE has no respect for meeting deadlines. granted they have a flawless track record on AAA RPGs that thas proberbly why it takes them so long. want to know how to make a LOT of money? make AAA RPG in a reasonable time, and put SE out of busines...
Now that's something interesting.
