Good stuff!

Just a few more good games and I might have to get this system...

Sorry but I highly doubt it's the best Mario launch game. It's basicaly a HD console version of the DS game

Super Mario 64/Sunshine is a true Mario Launch game, why is it Mario games automaticaly get good scores. Seriously if any other franchise remained the same (New Super Mario Bros, New Super Bros Wii, New Super Mario Bros U) it would be called for it in the review.

The review even says it's not the best launch game...

1. Mario Sunshine wasn't at Gamecube's launch. That was Luigi's Mansion.

2. Agree, Mario 64 is great.

3. The New Super Mario Bros. series is the most traditional take on Mario's platforming, and I didn't expect Mario Bros U to be different, and that is actually a fact that is called for in various reviews. On the other hand, 3D Mario games are always top notch and always add new things to the formula. Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario 3D Land and Mario Galaxy are all VERY different experiences.

I don't know, there's been a lot of really good Mario launch games in the past...

Exactly. It'll be hard to top Super Mario World or the original Super Mario Bros.
cpayne93  +   1018d ago
Nah i would say super mario bros 3 topped the original by a pretty big margin. Super mario 64 has my vote in this case, but im not sure if you can compare the 2d and 3d marios. They're pretty different.

Um, which system did SMB3 launch again? Oh yeah, it wasnt a launch title.

@cygnuszero2 ugh, ok, that was a derp move on my part...

When i watched the demo on the wiiU in best buy i honestly was not impressed like i thought i would be :/ Like what jinkies said it was basically looking like the ds but on a big screen. Mario was not even hd looking really the characters were extremely jagged around the edges. I am hoping though that it was just the TV best buy was using or maybe the wii u not set to 1080p etc.

Super mario world and mario 64 are the best mario launch games and they are also some of the best games ever made.

I agree what others have said. A 4th NSMB game cannot stand up to something like SM64. No way. I was VERY excited about SM64, but this game? Not so much. Its the kind of game Ill play like 6 months or a year from now when I feel like the system might be more worth buying.
