A History of FPS War: From Medals of Honor to Black Operations

War. War never changes - except when it means changing time period. And with the release of Black Ops 2, that change is now.

From the original Medal of Honor to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, there has been a cyclic evolution in the subject matter of FPS war-games. Right now we’re at a point where, as FPS fans may have noticed, the setting of contemporary warfare and current conflicts is rapidly drifting from the focus of the shooter genre, just as WW2 games did in times past, and futuristic warfighting is about to irrevocably take to the stage in their place. (Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, GameCube, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360)
