GTA V could be Rockstar's very best game, draws inspiration from GTA IV, Red Dead and more

Tim Nunes from PSU.com writes, "Rockstar Games has been all over the place in terms of narrative development. From extremely detailed detective stories to a portrayal of the shattered remnants of a man holding on to his diminishing way of life - even the wild west has been covered in the diverse span of titles that Rockstar Games has released this generation. What we didn't know until now is that everything has been building up to one moment and one purpose - making Grand Theft Auto V brilliant. The latest trailer for Rockstar's upcoming open-world epic showcases the inspirations that the studio has drawn from its own work, and we couldn't be more excited about the results." (Grand Theft Auto V, PS3, Rockstar Games, Xbox 360)

Rockstar is really killing it with its titles this generation, and it has only grown and developed stronger narratives, stronger characters, and stronger gameplay as the titles have launched. Hats off to Rockstar for showing me that the old, one-faceted Grand Theft Auto games, though still good and influencial in their own merit, were only the tip of its talented iceberg.

A GTA game drawing inspiration from a GTA game? BLASPHEMY!

Indeed, it's to be expected. It's also great to see a studio improve so much on something that was grossly successful on its own like GTA IV was.

Looks like they took the atmosphere and humour of Vice City and blended it with the location, and features of San Andreas.

What they've shown looks amazing. R* has delivered some amazing work to date, and I have VERY high hopes for this!

hmm from my observation of the new trailer i noticed that they took inpiration from several entertainment mediums such as:

1. Bad Boys 2 = The highway chase
2. Uncharted 3 = Jeep on an airborne plane

and many others :)

Because we all know highway chases and jeeps on airborne planes didn't exist until those entertainment mediums.

A source of inspiration does not have to be an original.

On this website, Uncharted inspired the creators of pong.
