The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Review and Personal Verdict from a Girl Gamer

Nad Teresa writes, "The Zelda franchise is one of the most popular gaming franchises ever and has been around as long as gaming itself. It was the first big fantasy action-adventure game series of its kind and [we] have to say as a huge fan of The Legend of Zelda series and having played all the games in the series including the newest one “Skyward Sword” for Nintendo Wii, [our] personal favourite is “Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” and [we] love this game to no end. It’s a classic game in Nintendo history being released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64. It is Also The 5th game in The Legend of Zelda series as well as the first with 3D graphics making it a classic to most if not all gamers out there."

The score seems kinda low.

Agreed.

Man this game, it's one of those few watershed moments in gaming history that simply exceed expectation. Like Goldeneye, GTA and Halo, this just sucked me into its universe and left its mark.

I salute thee Ocarina of Time.

Zelda was just like Final Fantasy in this case. Both series started out on older consoles, NES/SNES. We grew to absolutely adore them at the time, then when both of these series finally made the leap to 3D, it was a huge deal. Generally speaking, both Ocarina of Time and FF7 are the most loved in their respective series.

It's quite simple as to why that is. Consider how big a leap it is to go from 2D sprites into a full 3D realm for both of these games. That kind of transition has only happened once in gaming history. Yes, there's a huge gap between graphics in PS1 to PS3, or N64 to Wii U. However, they're still in that same realm of 3D rendering. No matter how much graphics improve, we won't be seeing another significant leap of that kind again. (Until possibly virtual reality lol).

I wouldn't mind an Ocarina Of Time II...haha. :)

Majora's Mask ;)
"How?" you might ask.

Gametrailers had a nice timeline theory a few years back.
At the end of Ocarina of Time the timeline was split, Majora's Mask is one of them.

Gametrailers is also working on a NEW theory:

A staff member said "It is almost done" yesterday.

"Navi the fairy then bringing Link to the Great Deku Tree who was dying from a curse, Link then breaks the curse but didn’t how ever stop the tree from weakening"

Parts of this review make my brain hurt.

It was my first review! haha be gentle.
I agree though. I'll keep that in mind for my next article.

So...the "from a girl gamer" wasn't part of the original title.

I was beginning to wonder if the author titled all of her articles "from a girl gamer," because I really can't see how your opinion on OoT would change depending on your gender. It's a good thing the poster helpfully pointed that out. Because it really matters!

Snookies121415d ago

Lol! The sarcasm is strong in this one! I do agree though, gender has nothing to do with whether or not a game is good or not.

NadTeresa1414d ago

I had no say int he title other wise I wouldn't have done that. I would have just kept the original title I put.
