They could do well with mega man by taking it the way of the metroid prime trilogy. Or it could do well set up like a more platform oriented ratchet and clank type game. It's either of those or they leave it 2d side scrolling.
It needs to be a decent quality 2D platformer on PSN/XBL at around $20-$30, but the way that market's structured with a $10 limit and Flash-like tools that's never going to happen.
I want it to be fast paced and 2D like MMX used to be. Dash, jump, shoot! Or 3D in 3rd person like Megaman Legends but never in First Person like Metroid Prime. I mean, why turn MM into a FPS anyway? They been trying to turn MM into an RPG with the recent handheld tittles and I really don't like that either.... =/

More to do with MML3 for me. Them asking for fan support, a specific level and getting it, then canceling the game regardless. With some douche in the company blaming those same fans.
They probably just have iphone sequels -_-, knowing Capcom you have to set your expectations low, and then lower them because you might have put them to high the first time.
I don't have high expectations with Megaman and Capcom. If megaman was a truly valued asset, He would've been in MVC3 in the first place and not have all his games cancelled.
A Megaman Legends 1-2 HD REMAKE would be nice.
Though I really wouldn't want megaman westernized like how they did with DmC and RE6. The closest thing to a megaman 3rd person shooter that I've encountered was Saints Row 3 with the cyber buster weapon.
Stop catering to the lowest common denominator or what is currently "hot" and give us a nicely animated 2D sidescroller that's worthy to be a successor. Or continue what you started with "Powered Up" and "Maverick Hunter X" and make them PSN/Xbox Live/Nintendo Network download games since the originals didn't have the turn over you wanted in retail.
You would think they would have learned from the success of Megaman 9 & 10. People love the originals and the X series. If you don't mess with the formula too much and actually put some love, time, effort and care into it, and review the old games to learn what made them so great, that would be a great start to reviving the once great franchise.
On a side note, whatever happened to the anniversary surprise or details Capcom were supposed to be sharing for the Blue Bomber? Even an anniversary collection for current consoles, and actually releasing it in PAL territories too this time, would have been better than nothing >.<

It has to have substance, something people can play for awhile instead of in one day like previous Megamans. Do something crazy like a create your own Maverick Hunter with online co-op or something as a side story of the actual game. People wanna be excited for Megaman all over again.
They say that cuz he'll be in Tekken X Street Fighter. They don't have any plans to release a Megaman game. They're just doing this to continue trolling the fans.

I think this is a good idea especially for some companies who don't know how to continue the creative vision the original producer had for the series.
