Chris Cook of 1Up of writes: For fans of Virtua Tennis 3, or just all things Sega, the upcoming Sega Superstars Tennis may be a treat for you. Developed by Sumo Digital, the same studio that did VT3, this character cameo-filled multiplatform game looks to be not only a nostalgic trip down memory lane, but also one heck of a solid tennis game.
Sega Superstars Tennis features 16 different characters from the Sega universe, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, Ulala, AiAi, and Amigo. Each character comes complete with his or her own unique Superstar Move that lets you pummel an opponent with a super-powered shot. To keep the Sega party going strong, there are also 10 different courts inspired by series like House of the Dead, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Space Channel 5, as well as a ton of Sega specific minigames.
For Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog aficionados, Sega Superstars Tennis is a solid blend of simple sports action and glossy fan service.
SEGA Superstars Tennis will be released for the Mac on October 17th, Feral Interactive has today announced. Developed by Sumo Digital Ltd., published by SEGA for consoles and inspired by two decades of SEGA history, SEGA Superstars Tennis sees 16 fan-favourite characters serving up extreme arcade tennis.
