Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Review | EGM

EGM: "The first Black Ops put Treyarch on par with Infinity Ward; with Black Ops II, they surpass them. This is the most impressed I’ve been with Call of Duty since the first Modern Warfare; aside from some problems with the Strike Force missions, this is a shining moment for the franchise." (Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 9/10

Well, it's an awesome expansion pack though.

How? It's looks more dated than ever, the gameplay is more tired than ever with the changes made making the game's multiplayer less exciting. The game is still on rails. And you can look at my comment history. I'm a huge Call of Duty fan but the formula has just worn thin now.

I am not a COD fan but calling this release a glorified expansion is very naive. Treyarch have blown the doors wide open on what to expect from a COD and a story driven FPS in general. Credit should be given where credit is due. Stop being a butt hurt fanboy. This is the first COD I might actually buy since 4.

As a Call of duty Fan. Don't. It's a repeat of MW3, it's a mess but in a totally different way. They took out the need to Aim Down the Sight. So it's just People using SMG's and blindfiring with a good 80% accuracy.

It's not fun, it's not innovative and it's not worth the money unless they take it down to £20 which isn't asking for too much consider the lack of work that goes into them.

It's just an opinion, a stupid one, but an opinion nonetheless.

Here's the thing about call of duty games. Sure they have a lot to improve on. But each installment uses their current engine to their fullest potential. Yes it's the same engine over-used a 4 years in a row. But the developers try to make up for it by adding an immerse experience and a variety in content such as game modes, zombies, etc. The games end up having a lot of polish because of the "easy to develop" engine.

All I have to say is that I think this is a good game. But a 9 is too un-fitting. A 7.5 or 8 would be good because it's a great game without any innovation.

I have to give credit to Treyarch for moving the franchise into an unfamiliar direction.

You know what, neither game offers anything new, both play very well and if i had to decide on just one of them .....? that would be a tough one, but i dont need to decide and bought them both. only reason i buy cod at all every year as the servers are not hacked for the first couple of weeks so you get a good online game haha

On side note I think both halo 4 and cod:bo 2 both deserve a 7, and thats genorous, and thats just coz its more of the same, coz both games look awesome and play really well
