Ragnarok Tactics Review [Twinfinite]

Apollosoft is a company well versed in the tactical strategy RPG. Created from the fallout of Summon Night developer Flight-Plan, their pedigree with the isometric RPG has a solid foundation. Since many of Flight-Plan’s strategy RPG’s went unlocalized, this makes each new title from this crew a curiosity to be explored. This being Apollosoft’s first localized game and one of the last PSP RPGs released in the west, it needs to live up to the pressure. (PS Vita, PSP, Ragnarok Tactics) 4/5

Yes it does. Download it straight to your Vita. It's fun, but can be very frustrating at certain times.

Hm, what kind of frustrating? Like, frustrating as in difficulty (something I usually welcome) or frustrating as in "I died because this is bad design and shouldn't be this way."?

Frustrating as in the enemies don't budge until you get within range of their attacks. You have to turtle your way (protect the 2-3 story characters) through the levels which make you not bother with one on one fights. If you get within range of more than one enemy (early on) you get wiped. They hit you way too hard.

AH, that's the big thing I disliked about Hoshigami and Stella Deus, too. It's like, come on guys, let's dance >:/

The 2D art of the game is really gorgeous. I wish it had some voice acting.

The game seems pretty grindy though (just in for 2-3 hours).. and I find the pace a little slow. It should have had the "fast forward" option like in "Yggdra Union" (w/c this game is very similar with).

I like how I can save in battle though.. if I made a mistake I can just re-load :P
