Wii U Daily spoke to several retailers, all report that the Wii U pre-orders are exceeding those of the original Wii back in 2006.
This is the first console I ever pre-ordered because I knew it would sellout in the first few days. Nintendo was different (home console market wise) back in 2006 (but ready..haha). Now they are launching with being #1 the previous generation..first time since N64 launch. It makes sense.
Gamers need something new. This console generation (while fantastic and still kicking) has been around too long. Everyone likes new stuff - well maybe everyone except people that shop at antique stores.
I waited in line for my Wii back in 2006. No need to pre-order.
you do know that you may not get out due to the fact most stores are going to be pre-order
I mean no needing to preorder back then. Now it's a standard in order to get the product that you desire.
Pre-order? Why? ... Meh!
The wii was coming off the GameCube which didn't sell well so this is no surprise.
Makes sense, it is following a very successful console. Good for Nintendo! I do plan on getting one early next year some time.
This website is full of crap. Don't trust anything that comes from them.
