DmC: Devil May Cry DLC Is Not on the Game Disc and Will Be Free

"To say Capcom have irritated a few people lately with on-disc DLC, expensive DLC, DLC that isn't even DLC, etc, would be putting it nicely. Earlier today, Capcom revealed a trailer for some upcoming content for DmC: Devil May Cry which featured Dante's brother Vergil in all-new content. Naturally, fans have been skeptical about whether the DLC would be on the disc already and whether Capcom would charge another silly price for it."

free to those that pre-order it at gamestop....

Whitefox7891482d ago

Ooooo Tameem your assuming everyone is going to

A. purchase this at gamestop and
B. preorder said title at gamestop

You self indulgent arrogant prick...

Is he really expecting the preorder listing for this to be as high as a COD title or a Halo title?

Hanso1482d ago

The real problem is the game is 2+months away and there are already 4 dlc's this is insane.

wishingW3L1482d ago (Edited 1482d ago )

what?! There are 3 or 4 more DLC announced?

edit: many websites say this is the first....

Hanso1482d ago (Edited 1482d ago )

-Samurai Pack
-Bone Pack
-Golden Pack
-Vergil Chapter

we can expect a lot more soon like costumes ect.

ran out of bubbles again -.-

Sony, EA and Ubisoft, Activision all have block buster gamers releasing and there games have had 4 or more DLC announced months before their games launched.

Assassin's Creed 3, PSABR, Far Cry 3, Medal of Honor, black Ops 2.

as these DLC that you're complaining about are also Pre order DLCs you're bashing this game and calling it a problem because it has Pre order DLC who doesnt do DLC pre order incentives to help entice people to buy a product?

Capcom isn't the first. and wont be the last
Sony did this with PSARB, Infamous 2, Uncharted 2 and 3, Starhawk! God of War, LBP, MNR and many more.

The fact is people are just bitching about this because its "A" capcom and "B" they DONT like DmC because of Cosmetic changes ans well as Ninja Theory's Lead outspoken opinions and views on the project!

HeavenlySnipes1482d ago

InFamous 2's DLC came far after release and was kept a secret. GOW didn't have any real DLC other than costumes whih were released much later

Uncharted 3 had the season pass thing set up for future DLCs but there wasn't any release day DLC and I don't think Uncharted 2 did either beacuse for one, that was a new MP experience and they had to see if people liked it before they decided to make DLC

Starhawks DLC is all free

KZ3 had preorder DLC for maps from KZ2

KZ2 did not have day 1 DLC or DLC at all until much later into release

Sevir1482d ago

If you download content for a game its called DLC! no if ands or buts about it. Infamous 2 had several DLC that was announced months before as pre order incentives giving weapons, power ups and up grades and skinds, which were eventually given months later its released as well. Your point is moot on the issue. Starhawks DLC maybe all free, but they also had Pre order DLC which was the point of the article and you had to preorder to receive it ahead of everyone.

and Once again, my point was to illustrate that the bashing of capcom for DLC preorder bonuses is not exclusive to them, as Many Developers and publishers do it so bashing them is really moot if you choose to ignore it from other publishers which it seems everyone here is conveniently doing because its capcom. MS has done this for Forza, halo and Fable and Gears.

you pre order, you get stuff free as a promotion. whats the cause for hysteria? Oh its capcom and we dont like Dante and Ninja Theory and this DmC reboot! >_>

MARKETER KILL IT WITH FIRE!

dragonrage001477d ago

@Sevir

This isnt extra weapons or early power ups. We are talking about an iconic franchise character being playable, and possibly new missions, being annouced months before the games release. If rockstar had announced "The lost and tha damned", and "the ballad of gay Tony" months before launch, GTA fans would be just as pissed.

Besides, you assume (like many others, including NT) that the problem with DmC is nothing more than the new look, when actually, the gameplay looks slow, easy, and generally worse than the previous games.

Sevir1477d ago

DLC is DLC, period! and Preorder DLC's are done by every Major publisher and devloper! end of story! dont try to be little the notion to further the state of bashing a product most people vehemently hate for for silly reasons! if you are going to complain cry foul at Everyone who does this. END OF STORY!

Capcom is still a scumbag company that will never see any of my money again. Them and Activision have both disgusted me enough with their business practices that I just choose not to support either of them.

Hanso1482d ago

you shall have more bubbles

Tales RPG addict1482d ago

Activision's Business practices have proven to any educated gamer that the General Public is full of blind idiots who think COD is the best series ever when it's not. COD has turned the FPS genre on its head as the genre is on the verge of imploding at any time. People bitch about Japanese games being the same. Well look @ COD.

AS for CAPCOM their DLC business practices are what piss me off. I'll buy their games used from GAMESTOP so they never get any profit from me. Havent bought a single Gay ass COD game i'll play my KZ2, KZ3, BF3 instead.

Seeing your avatar as a character from Valkyria Chronicles is a true testament to the words you've spoken.

Crapcom, will never change no matter how much faith you have in them...

bubblebeam1482d ago

I think they have already made the DLC, they just want to act as if they are handing it out for free.

Same thing happened with Gears 3. Make content, cut content, convince people they are being generous by giving it away.
