Halo 4 is packing a mighty punch this holiday season, as Microsoft has just reveled that its global sales total in the first 24 hours has hit $220 million, and the title looks to be on pace to hit $300 million in the first week.
(Halo 4, Industry, Microsoft, Xbox 360)
Finally finished campaign co-op..without a doubt one of the best Halo experiences in the history of the franchise.
But there is so much more to the game. Spartan Ops will keep releasing new content, the new way to progress through War Games is a blast, and I still need to beat Legendary solo.
Just like Halo 3 and Reach it looks like this game will offer Halo fans enough meat to play for years. Worth every cent.
It sure is a purdy game. I was surprised by the visuals. The details have improved a good deal. Haven't tried it online yet. Yeah, I know. But I have been really busy. Still cleaning up after Sandy.
Damn. Still dissapointed though, i wished it will outsell BO2, at least on the 360, i'm a PS3 owner/fan but i really wanted Halo 4 to outsell BO2. :( Guess we will have to next year, GTA V will be the one to finally dethrone CoD as the sales king.
@360 Owners: Congrats, it's a great game, i'm not a fan of first person shooters, but at least it isn't a generic military shooter. :)
Its just a general statement. Halo 4 is one of the biggest "entertainment launches" of the year. No "chest thumping" or whatever. But its still hard to imagine any other exclusive doing this big.
You assumed fanboyism when none was existent in my comment.
220 million? Wow... that is pretty staggering. I guess its safe to say their $10million investment in the Halo 4 Forward Unto Dawn series was justified.
Congrats to 343i as well as MS on pulling off what many thought could be a disaster (343 taking over that is).
It was an amazing series. I got it with the Limited Edition, but sadly it isn't on disc. You can't even download it. You have to watch it off waypoint, so you are always streaming it.
I'm going to buy it on blu-ray. I wonder how funny it would be playing Forward Unto Dawn off of my PS3? Exclusive my ass.
I can't belive some people actually hate on this game. I mean this is pretty much what gaming is all about, it's like the whole concept of videogaming wrapped up in one game.
By all means the story was top notch 5/5. I did how ever have an issue with a few game play mechanics, such as climbing the elevator shaft, escort mission, so I give game play 4/5. Finally the only place I thought 343 failed was with non game play features, Forward Unto Dawn not on disk gold for spartan ops and terminals, but you can't take away points from a game for extras.
I just finished the campaign yesterday & did the spartan ops mission but am I the only one who was kinda bored with it? I dont know what it was but i just couldn't get into it for some reason.
That is a great accomplishment this late in the consoles life. I was one of those who bought it at a midnight launch, and I couldn't be happier about the end product. The quality is better than ever and 343i has really made a statement for their first ever game release.
If you check the math, its slightly over 3.5 million copies sold in 24 hours, that is huge!
This is why I say that while I love new games and IP's from time to time, Halo games are why I buy Xbox consoles, I think more people will be and be happy with Halo 4 than a niche new title.
Halo 4 is a great game anybody who has an xbox and hasn't bought this game because of COD i seriously recommend you pick this game up along with your BO pre order tonight.
Proof that we are not quite ready for next gen just yet, devs are still squeezing nice graphics from our current console lineup. And also why I'm not at all worried about the WiiU specs, you don't need an ultra high tech console to make a beautiful game... PS2 Okami anyone?
Halo 4 + Gears 3 + Forza 4 + Limbo = visual showcase for what the old xbox is still capable of.
How much did Halo 4 cost to make, though? Didn't MS say that it had the biggest budget of any game to date? Wasn't Halo 3 like 30 million or something, including advertising and everything?
Anyway, 343i say they truly maxed out the system, and that's been said a lot in the past, but when a game looks this good, I tend to believe it. Makes me happy that someone finally squeezed all there was to squeeze out of the console, 6 years later.

Now onwards to Treyach tiny little project..lol

*Back to infinity slayer*
I must admit, I was pretty skeptical about them, but Halo 4 definitely rocks.
Congrats to everyone involved in the Halo 4 development process.
4 million in the first 5 days is INSANE.

Every single sale it gets, stunning game.
