Considering the success of Nintendo’s unique hardware, and the general competitiveness of today’s market, is it time Sony and Microsoft became a little more daring in the design of their consoles?
Other nominees include games like SimCity & Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
There are some good nominees in this list that are deserving to be inducted also, but I feel Metroid has had the most impact on the industry out of all of these. Look how Metroid influenced the evolution of the Castlevania games, and the "Metroidvania" subgenre of games have become a prevailing force in gaming today. Especially now, Metroidvanias are bigger than ever.
I can very much see Resident Evil being added later too, bc it really did popularize and define the survival horror genre. I would say that one is next in line.
If any Metroid game should get the honor it should be Super Metroid , it's perfection in my eyes . 30 years later and I still feel it's the most epic shit ever .
The GBA remake deserves it or Super Metroid, the original was a very sloppy and rushed game programmed in 3 months and it shows.
If you've never played the remake, it's absolutely a must play, fixes basically every flaw in the game. Check out ExoParadigmGamer's comparison video.
Sea of Thieves is the first Rare-developed game to launch for a PlayStation console, and Sony was heavily involved in helping the studio bring the swashbuckling pirate romp to its flagship console.
Out of curiosity could any of these ms games going to ps5 have been leaked by Sony themselves? Not Sony but someone at Sony
sony isn't about to let some console wars get in the way of trying to make microsoft become a third party dev by showing them that they make more money with them than without them. of course with that in mind they'd help them. it's also doubly so because microsoft are bringing what is considered a popular game over that can also make sony money
Nice.
Still don't want it though.
Tell me Killer Instinct is coming to PS5 and then we'll talk.
“Before even Kirby was born, HAL Laboratory released the super-cute puzzler Adventures of Lolo in 1989 and it has held up beautifully.” - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums.
Good lord that's a silly question. Of course a product sold at stores for consumers needs a selling point or "gimmick".
Those aren't bad things or bad terms.
All I know is unless they drop support completely for the ps3, I don't see me diving into any game on the ps4, especially if it comes out on the ps3 too. I'm perfectly fine with this gens gaming. I need something more than cross game chat to make me buy one.
Yes, i think for sony ( sorry my favorite console company) need to make games like beyond two souls, heavy rain , uncharted, the last of us. Furthermore, i hope sony or another company please releases something with on demand video/gaming.
I just want games! Could not careless about all the other crap like Netfilx, Hulu etc etc..
If they both have good exclusive games along with some cool bells and whistles but mainly exclusive ip's ready to go at launch then they will sell well.
