DayZ creator Dean Hall says he's only killed once in his own game

DayZ creator Dean Hall has only killed once in his own video game.
This is an oddity because the world of the multiplayer zombie apocalypse mod for ARMA II is cutthroat. Stories of being taken hostage by other gun-toting players, ambushed by bandits and picked off by camping snipers are rampant, more so than tales of zombie-related mayhem.

Not good considering he's in charge of pvp balances.

Would you want a guy to build your house if he has only swung a hammer one time?

There's a difference between testing balance and playing on a private base. Also i doubt it was intended to be a PvP game at all. And how/why would you balance a game that has no classes and with everyone having access to the same weapons.

I could have killed over 10 people so far, but for reputation and legal issues, I ummm.. never killed anyone in my life;-)

It's actually excellent . It means it's truly viable to live through the game without killing .

And yeah it's not a pvp centric game anyway

Yes I agree, it shows you truely have the option of playing it under the radar or guns a blazin...Or somewhere in the middle, great option of freedom.

The mod is to buggy for my tastes and the animations are just terrible

But I cant wait to see the stand alone version.

Yeah, I think the DayZ mod was a great tester to see if people would buy into it, and they clearly did in huge numbers.

Hopefully the standalone will have a much improved inventory system, better animations/graphics, and I think a lot of people would appreciate character customization.
