They’re Still Not Showing Enough of Dead Space 3

Kotaku - Someone somewhere has decided the best way to show off Dead Space 3, an EA game only four months from release, is to keep only showing the tiniest bits of the thing.

The latest third-person horror/shooter adventures of space miner Isaac Clarke could be wonderful. They could be terrible. It's impossible to tell. (Dead Space 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I've seen enough

I'll tell you the truth, I feel that less is better. Dead Space 2 got WAY too much exposure going into the release and I thought I had seen too much going into it as opposed to the original Dead Space which I went into pretty much cold. I'm hoping they keep most of their surprises under wraps with DS3 but not as much as I hope they manage to retain at least some of the scares that made the original Dead Space so damn great.

It is just Resident Evil 5 all over again.

If you play the game solo, you don't have John Carver following you around, getting in the way, and getting killed. If you play solo, it's just Isaac. The experience will be the same as the first two games when you play solo.

When you play co-op, you get the added bonus of getting John's story.

I myself look forward to playing the game solo first, then playing it through with a friend online.

I don't feel the experience will be the same when straight from EA, they have said there will be a universal ammo, more frequent ammo drops, a cover system, and weapon customization, all with a much greater focus on action bang bang shoot em ups. Like he said, Resident Evil 5 all over again.

@KwietStorm

I assumed that the RE5 knock was directed towards the added co-op, since that was the biggest knock against the game. We must have played different versions of Resident Evil 5 though because the one I played:

1) Didn't have universal ammo
2) Didn't have more frequent ammo drops (same as RE4)
3) Didn't have a full cover system (you couldn't take cover at will, only in a few random spots per level)

Also, Resident Evil 5 wasn't the first game in the series with weapon customization. RE4 had it as well. And if I'm not mistaken, RE4 also had the old limited cover system that RE5 used (been years since I played RE4 though). As for a focus on action, Dead Space 2 was pretty action-based, and it still maintained a scary atmosphere.

I agree that universal ammo is a bummer, but that's got nothing to do with RE5. I don't mind a cover system or weapon customization though, but that's just me.

Geez, guys. Are you forgetting? This game is quadruple A. That more As than ever before. Why do you need to see anything? The 4 As alone should tell you that it's beyond amazing.

I don't think any Dead Space game will be as good as DS1.
DS2 wasn't great and i doubt this will be either.
