That sounds 'NEXT GEN' to me! :D

although unofficially
PSP could do it with CFW and Vita has it by default. the PS3 can do it too using print screen button on the keyboard although the only game I knew has this is Resistance 2 but still...the PS3 supports it it's just devs don't use it. I'm happy Nintendo is following suit as on the Vita this feature is very nice but it's no NEXT GEN!

Again, though, not OS level.... meaning ALL games will be able to do this. Hell, most likely in any app as well.

Not to be off topic, but I like the way Nintendo of Japan has listed the display resolutions on the back of the box, 480i, 480p, 1080i, 720p, 1080p. It actually goes in ascending order of actual pixel lines ! This also means that it will be "upscaled" to 1080p to some extent, ala, 99% of games this past generation.
wampdog29  +   219d ago
That actually doesn't mean that.....

Then what does it mean on every other game box?

Why state it at all?

Some game boxes for the Wii U don't even have resolutions listed.

Or they just listed the resolutions it and the gamepad can produce. That's always a thought. No need to look so deep into it.

"It actually goes in ascending order of actual pixel lines !"

Numbers usually ascend when they go from lower to higher. Good job.

Yeah I had a hunch this would be interpreted as "hurrdurr 1080p lookee"

I'm just saying most of the time I see it as 720p, 1080i, 1080p.

Instead of the order I stated.

And yes, you and I both understand the definition of "ascending".

Good job.
