"Hisachi Suzuki, Square Enix’s former president, stated in a tweet that Square’s merger with Enix failed and the company had ‘lost its vision for the future.’ With Square Enix’s lackluster sales and questionable titles lately, it’s easy to see why the company might be having trouble lately. The company is not the video game giant it once was and Square Enix has not been able to keep up with the current trends in gaming"
Simply because Edios is doing so well and dragon quest and ff still sell in large amounts.
SE are in no trouble of bowing out but they do need to get priorities sorted sharpish.
However they really have a long way to go to improve on their business practices as well as development process. Next gen there should be no excuses for another FFvs.13 happening again. They need to manage their development schedules to improve the quality of their games.
If things like this still happen next gen than we will know it is a problem with the higher ups like Wada.
