Halo 4 Xbox 360 Review - A Shadow of its Former Self | addicted-gamers.com

Many people considered Halo 4 to be the biggest release of the year. The kickstarter for a new trilogy featuring the return of Master Chief and the introduction of the Forerunners as a new main enemy, Halo 4 begins where Halo 3 left off. The Chief and his AI companion, Cortana, are once again thrown into action when the crippled frigate Forward Unto Dawn encounters a mysterious Forerunner shield world. Waking up to a fight is nothing new for Spartan-117, but this battle has more than a few new twists. (Halo 4, Xbox 360) 3/5

credit where credit is due! 343 did an amazing job, im only half way through and already its my favorite halo game, its just sad there seems to be so many bitter people out there that just love to nit pick, got run over by a warthog so that means the ai sucks? seriously halos got some of the best ai around!

if these reviewers are such experts lets see them make a better game!

job well done 343, halo 4 is pure class!

Hmm..I've never been a fan of the ally AI...

The enemy Ai sure. I'd go so far as to call it the best in FPS.
NewZealander  +   768d ago
yeah ally ai has had some issues ill give them that, im still scared to be a passenger!

but the enemy ai is amazing.

Wait, he disliked the sound effects?

I bought a Bose Soundsystem last year and believe me, this games has the best gunsounds of any Halo before, maybe even any FPS ever.

I agree.
The sound in Halo 4 easily outclasses any in the franchise and easily sits on top with the likes of the Battlefield franchise.

This is one aspect of Halo 4 I really liked. I was afraid at first because they were completely scrapping all the previous Halo sounds, but man, the sound team definitely pulled through.

If we are just reviewing the campaign, I would say the campaign is a 7.5/10. It is good but not that amazing though.

Multiplayer is easily a 9.5/10 and I overall give the game a 9/10.

Game is a step up from that flop of a Halo game called Reach, and I am enjoying it.

Your overall score should of been an 8.5
FarCryLover182  +   768d ago
That is true if I completely averaged the two scores....but thats not what I did lol. Gets a + .5 for forge and Spartan Ops. Also a lot of real reviewers sometimes don't even average their results.

I understood the campaign and got really into it, Imo 8.5, and I agree with the MP Score. One of the best FPS since Halo 1&2.

PS 7.5 is still good, actually its a score i would give other FPS games(CoD, Battlefield, KillZone) for there stories.

Halo 4s, great great FPS gamefathers Doom, and Quake are very proud.

"Too many explosions and extremely bright lights" you're kidding me right? it's an intergalactic game with a mix full of human weapons alien lasers, and space age military/alien vehicles in, you guessed it... A war like environment. The story was not that complex to understand either, it's really simple compaired to other games, and in the writers defense we players sometimes lose track of the story in the battle with other objectives that need to be done.

I do agree that the save points were bad, but the level design, come on? It's really cool that 343 decided to open up the playing field, and besides there are hidden things that can be found skulls and terminals to be exact.

I understand this is the writers opinion, but when the writer goes as far to say " too many explosions, and extremely bright lights" in a game which theme revolves around huge squad based battles using space age weapons... What would you expect a few sparklers and a puff of smoke?
