1996. 16 long years ago. A year that saw the Olympic Games in Atlanta, the divorce of Prince Charles and Diana, Kofi Annan made Secretary General of the UN, and the outbreak of Mad Cow Disease in the UK. So, all in all it was quite an interesting year. 1996 was also the year that Shinji Mikami bought us the first ever game in the Resident Evil franchise. And now 2012 sees the launch of Resident Evil 6. The name feels strange, though. It’s a game that doesn’t feel completely like a Resident Evil title, and with it being the 23rd Resident Evil release, there’s not a lot of sense in the “6” either.
