wow. i didnt remember the ps2 having that many launch games!
It definitely has a lot of launch titles
That's for sure.
Great games as well. I haven't seen a launch lineup this good for consoles since last generation. Definitely beats 360, Wii and PS3.
I guess when half of your lineup consists of games already released on another system, it'll have that perk.
I know, too bad we all loved playing them on our 360s and PS3s months ago!
And 10x as many ports >_>
Get used to it as the next 2 new consoles from the other 2 will be 80% ports no doubt >_>
>implying that the gap between the Wii U and the ps3/360 is even remotely near the one between ps3/360 and Wii. hint: It isn't.
Guess what PS3 launch titles were ports of PS2 and XBOX games same as 360 launch titles.
Cool.. @ least theres a decent amount of options to chose from.. Buy one game to accompany the system & rent the others to keep content until the good ones start flowing in
Scribblenauts and Zombie U look good. Couldn't care less about the rest. New Super Mario Bro's U looks terribly lazy...& I thought Nintendo land was gonna be free. I'll wait til it gets more games
my concern is that Nintendo is gonna use this formula for making WiiU games: 1:mario 2:mario 3:metroid 4:mario 5:mario 6:zelda 7:mario 8:smash Bros 9:mario 10:mario how much longer can nintendo use the same IP's and be successful?
It has always been that way with Nintendo.
that's why i'm concerned.
Or for M$ fans
They all do it.
I for one can't wait for the new smash. or a New Prime Game.
Sony has new IP's up the wazoo. Microsoft...true.
You neglect the fact that Sony releases more new IP's every year than Nintendo has released in the past six years.
Or .. Resistance Uncharted LBP GOW GT Heavy Rain infamous Ratchet & Clank Warhawk Twisted Metal Killzone etc... etc... Not too mention all the multiplats that never made their way to the Wii. Nintendo is lacking the games that PS and Xbox have had this gen. They hit a nitch and caught fire but people have started calling a spade a spade and all Nintendo can do is regurgitate Mario, Zelda, and Metroid like they have for almost 30 years! SNES was the last real great Nintendo system.
Mario Metroid Zelda Smash Bros Fire Emblem Punch Out Pokemon Kirby Donkey Kong F-Zero Kid Icarus Golden Sun Pikmin Animal Crossing - Nintendo's got just as many IPs to use as any. And mind you between the 3DS, DS, and Wii they all of these franchises last generation.
The thing with Sony is they do not have any original IP's to speak of. Everything they offer has already been done before.
Wii U has Wonderful 101 something new that hasnt been on the market before.
With Sony you cant name a single IP that isnt based off of an already existing IP.
and the list goes on and on
You Sony fanboys are going to have a bad week/year if you are already this desperate to downplay the most powerful console on the market.(Note ot fanboys, I'm not saying power matters but you have for the past 7 years so just stating a fact)
I'm sure when $ony announces its Wii U clone all the hate will change and when PS4 launches with ports, ports will suddenly be a good thing.
Man it must a be a sad sight at your houses right now. Parents wondering why you are screaming and crying into your pillow.
oh yeah, sure ignore Kid Icarus, Steel Diver, Professor Layton, Xenoblade, Monster Hunter, Bayonetta 2, Ninja Gaiden, and other games that Nintendo are publishing. Again why is it with a Nintendo console we always forget 3rd parties??
Iwata has already said they will.almost certainly maintain a 1 nsmb cap per system. So the only other Mario to be released would be a 3d one. Of course, there are plenty of new ip planned as well. Mistwalker and retro are hard at work. Then there are all the strong 3rd party collaborations they are working on... like platinum games and capcom. Really, your worry is groundless. And one sided; Nintendo is FAR from a solitary guilty party in constant popular releases.
Apple is doing it.
Pretty impressive. It seems like there's been a lot of effort to get an extensive line-up together - both hardcore and casual.
Looking at the PS2 launch it had many ports tho.
it seems like 2-4 of them are ports.
Ninty faithfull will buy. Some wii customers will buy. 40mill sales.
One things for sure, Nintendo seems to have a pretty big chunk of third party devs eating out of their hands.
I hope majority of them not shovelwares.
Zombie U Mario Bros U Assasins Creed III BLACK OPS, sorry can't remember the full list for the Wii U and I don't remember PS2 have that many either
I have my console resevered for launch but the only game I will be picking up is Mario bros. The rest do not look that good or I already own them on a diff console.
i was hoping it was going to release with 1 new ip from retro.
I have pre-ordered can not wait, i'm really excited.
Just a bunch of ports, expected allot more from them.
If you like Dark Souls or Dead Island I suggest getting ZombiU.
You can always tell how well a console will do by the amount of hate it gets, and a week before launch WIi U is gettinglotsof hate as fanboys scramble into defense mode...
Just look at how desperate yeahokfanboy is atm. Seriously he feels threatened by a piece of plastic because his parents wont buy it for him.
Anyone else notice that one of the mods decided to bubble him back up when all his comments are clearly against the user agreement...
WE need to petition for new mods. Ones that actually do their job and don't hide behind their job and use it as a tool to spread hate, ignorance and lies.
If that's the case, then Sony's offerings should be the best ever, right?
No Old IPS (No GT, No Killzone, No Ratchet, etc.) No Spin-off franchises (No Battle Royale, No PS Move Heroes, etc.) No Re-releases. No Party licensed games (Start the party this, Start the party that, etc.) Original AAA Production Sony PS3 IPs in the 7th Generation of Consoles; Beyond: Two Souls Infamous - 2 games. Heavenly Sword Heavy Rain LittleBigPlanet - 2 games MAG ModNation Racers MotorStorm - 4 games Resistance - 3 games Starhawk The Last Guardian The Last of Us Uncharted - 3 games Until Dawn White Knight Chronicles - 2 games No Old IPS (No Mario, No Zelda, No Metroid, etc.) No Spin-off franchises (No SSB, No Mario Party, etc.) No Re-releases. No Party licensed games (Wii Sports this, Wii Sports that, Wii Play, etc.) Original AAA Production Wii IPs in the 7th Generation of Consoles; The Last Story Xenoblade Chronicles ----------------------------- ------------------------------ - ---- The purpose of this is to show how stagnant Nintendo have become with creating new game franchises and experiences that have high quality productions. Nintendo have been relying on their Mario name way too much, they need to spend serious money on new studios with new and interesting ideas. Nintendo's hardcore has been falling since N64 and I have no doubt, this is one of the reasons. People will get tired of the same game experience eventually. I own a SNES, N64, GameCube and Wii. However my games collections after N64 have been declining massively because the game experiences I want are not on Nintendo, and the old game experiences I've enjoyed on Nintendo have worn away. Novelty of the old, gets old quickly. Some of my favourite games are on N64, NGC and PS2. I can't play them games any more; graphics isn't the issue. It's control and animation. When you experience high quality games with extremely fluid gameplay mechanics, controls and animations... you can't got back. Arma 2 would be an example; I hate the animations on that game, it spoils the whole experience, hopefully Arma 3 will fix that. All in all, Nintendo need to spend a lot of cash on new/original IP.
True... But now compare the sales to all of the Sony IPs and Nintendo's old team. That's what it comes down to, money earners... Until they stop earning Nintendo millions I doubt they are in a rush to create new IPs. Mario Kart Wii alone has probably out sold all of those new IPs combined...
Nintendo has more new IP's than people care to recollect, it's just that when they release them they get overshadowed by their old IP's. And people keep buying their old IP games in droves so why wouldn't they keep making them? It would be bad business sense to not give people what they obviously want, especially when each Mario, Zelda and Metroid game sells in the millions without even trying. People can say they don't care for the old IP's but the sales numbers speak for themselves. Of the top of my head I can think of far more new IP's from Nintendo exclusive to the Wii, not even including the DS exclusive new IP's that fit your rules. Especially being that an AAA game is subjective, I sure don't think of every one of those games on your PS3 list as my personal AAA favorite PS3 games. Conduit - 2 Games Elebits Epic Mickey (until it's sequel was announced multiplatform) Endless Ocean - 2 Games The Last Story Xenoblade Cronicles Madworld No More Heroes - 2 Games (until PS3 got an HD version) Pandoras Tower Red Steel - 2 Games Zack & Wiki : Quest for Barbaros Treasure Fragile Dreams : Farewell Ruins of the Moon Disaster : Day of Crisis Dewey's Adventure They may not all be AAA material to me or even you, but they are all new Nintendo IP's that started life on the Wii and aren't on any other platform (unless noted for a few exceptions but they became multiplatform later or with sequels). Nintendo does have new IP, people just have to look. What they should work on is new IP that can rival their old IP's. Work on making them more memorable and stand out compared to their million sellers like Mario, Zelda and Metroid etc
