Here Are the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live Q&A Summary and Relevant Screencaps

The troubled history of Final Fantasy XIV has come to an end today, and as the adventurers of Eorzea finally rest their weary souls, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida came to us with another Letter from the Producer Live about the upcoming A Realm Reborn. (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, PC, PS3)

For all of you who want Wada to die, this is your chance.

That was also very informative. I've never really played an MMO before, but this game looks like it could be the only game I play for months, until a new RPG comes out at least.

Some disappointing info too though. No beta till Jan or Feb? Ouch !!

how exactly is the fact that they're taking their time to deliver a great product "disappointing"?

I didn't find that disappointing. That's not all that far away. Would you rather them rush to get it out and have it be incomplete and a mess at re-launch? Early 2013 is when it is supposed to be released so it seems like it's close to on schedule.

It's disappointing for two very big reasons. In my mind anyway, maybe your minds think differently.....most people's do. (keep in mind, this is all coming from the view of a console only gamer for the most part)

1) And this is the biggest reason for me. I WANT TO PLAY NOW!!!! I would rather spend this holiday season play FF14 Beta, than any game coming out this holiday. And this is more than just a beta to me as well. It's a gameplay test of a game that's going to determine whether *this gamer* is going to jump off a cliff I always promised myself I never would....which is pay a subscription fee to play a game. And the fact that this game looks so amazing to me that it's actually making me consider that, is just more reason that.....I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW !!!

2) And this reason is just as important to me. I actually WANT it to win me over because of how good it looks, and I'd like a nice long BETA period.....specifically for the PS3 version's final results to be perfect as well......to collect feedback for the console version. If the game launches in May, a late Jan/early Feb start to the beta isn't going to fix a whole lot before launch, most fixes would probably be post launch patches.
Also, the more people who get a nice free taste of the game, as long as it's good will generate bigger hype and will lead to more players on full release. More players for longer time also typically leads to a more informative BETA in general.

.....................Oh, who am I kidding?! I just WANT TO PLAY THE GAME NOW!!!!!. And seriously, I was looking forward to playing the beta over the Christmas/New Year holiday.

I meant *if the game launches in MARCH and the beta starts in late Jan/early Feb..........*
