The New Super Mario Bros. U Level Based On A Van Gogh Painting(?)

"New Super Mario Bros. U has its own take on the P-Wing, the P-Acorn. Use this item and you’ll transform into Squirrel Mario plus gain the ability to fly continuously through one stage. You can get a P-Acorn when you catch a Nabbit, a rabbit-like creature that appears in stages you completed. Catching the Nabbit hasn’t been that difficult so far since the Nabbit will periodically slowdown to taunt Mario.", writes Siliconera. (Industry, New Super Mario Bros. U, Wii U)

what first jumped out at me when I first saw super mario wii u in action at the last E3 was the backgrounds. Incredible detail never before seen in a mario game. I cant wait to take this eye candy in as I play through the levels.

Apparently Van Gogh always meant to add a short Italian plumber jumping on mushrooms in the foreground but succumbed to his demons before he could. Bless Nintendo for finally fully realising his vision.

If Van Gogh was alive today I think this would be his Game of the ear.
