Jim Sterling writes, "His Royal Highness, the Lord King of Promise Land, has issued a majestic decree that Nintendo is not doing anything impressive to his noble eyes. Claiming the Wii U does nothing to make him rush out and buy it, the creator of Error Accessing Server on iOS is skeptical."
I think this dude is an idiot, he may of made a couple of great games but it ends there, R* also make great games, you dont hear them potty mouthing others devs etc
... Fable 1 The Lost Chambers was pretty much the last GOOD game he made, and even that was far from perfect.
I'm not a Nintendo fanboy, but you still have to admire some of the quality they keep releasing. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 being great examples of near-perfection gaming for all ages.
The thing is though he was working for/with microsoft that whole time and if they are known for anything it's trying to coerce every creative vision they can get their hands on into a mass appeal bandwagon. So whether he stopped having good ideas, or just got caught rolling around in the fabulous microsoft money pits is anybodies guess.
And to be fair, with Fable Journey, Molyneux didn't want the game on rails. He was quite insistent upon that in the press but the game's on rails now and Molyneux left the company. Read into that what you will.
As I said before, hockey greats can have amazing careers that tank in the final years before retirement and we still recognize their achievements. That doesn't seem to happen in the games industry. Hardly anyone even recognizes Molyneux's incredible contribution to gaming over the decades because they're so focused on "Oh, he got too excited about Fable sequels and he under-delivered" It's a shame that there's a whole generation of gamers that know nothing but this about Molyneux.
As for his comments, as a game developer myself I always watch what he says with interest and always will. The man was a true pioneer of the medium and I'll always respect his accomplishments. I may not agree with him 100% of the time but he often raises excellent points, and in this case I think he's bang on. Developing a game where the player has a secondary screen in their lap just seems like a nightmare for developers. It's almost like having two competing devices vying for attention. How do you unify that into one experience and have the devices compliment each other, not compete? I'm certainly interested to see how it turns out.
the headline should read "Molyneux does not see the Wii U having the same WOW gadget factor as the Wii"
Moly was comparing the Wiimote feature to the tablet cnotroller feture and does not see where the tablet controller will be as amazing as the Wiimote.
I not saying that Molyneux does not talk alott of bull but sometimes his words are placed wrong by the media for more hits.
Here is his statement
"I struggle to see anything amazing coming out of Nintendo. There are a few, “Oh, that’s smart,” but there’s nothing that makes me rush out as a consumer to buy the new device," Peter Molyneux told IGN. "I’ll give you a great example of how tech should be used. It’s what Nintendo did with the Wii when it first came out. They introduced motion control. They were one of the first companies to introduce motion control and they had a fantastic Wii Sports Game. As soon as I picked up the controller and started waving it around, I got it. I already understood it. But I’m not sure there’s a same sort of application out there for Wii U. I think to myself, 'Well, what’s the reason to get it?' Do you see what I mean?"
Edit: I understand that its too early to tell if the Wii U will have the same effect as the Wii but I think he is right.
Its his opinion and people should respect it.
This can only be one incredibly hilarious, brilliant read.

Fixed.
He needs to just retire and shut up.
Shiggy is light years beyond where Peter could ever hope to be from a creative genius perspective.
One word for Peter...Milo. Enough said.
Nintendo has done at least 20+ amazing things within the industry and will add probably another 5 this generation.
When as this guy done anything good?
Fable 1 was pretty good. Fable 2.......was Fable 1...again...so I stopped playing it. Won't touch 3 jsut from vids I've watched and comments read and I'm not touching any game this man is involved with unless it actually is good.
This guy talks the talk, but can't walk the walk.
