I think they need a more realistic approach in the gameplay department with better mature story telling...I'm tired of that Hollywood guns blazing linear action vibe myself...Why not give the player choices that makes the plot differ/more control of how they wanna handle certain situations instead of just everything needs to be run and gun no questions asked..It's also time to get rid of the whole good vs bad guy concept..

I want proper squad commands with suppression fire and flanking tactics.

A few of my favourite Military themed games are Brothers in Arms, Rainbow 6 (yes I still love Vegas)and Full Spectrum Warrior.

I mean, its like its been made law you're not allowed to use your brain anymore in shooters. Run and gun seems to be the order of the day. Did I miss a meeting?

Well they don't really make games about modern warfare they make propaganda for one side of a global conflict, an FPS focused on the story of an insurgent group or an outfit like Hezbollah or the Naxalites would be interesting, Homefront and Far Cry 2 were a step in the right direction.
