The recent Xbox 360 dashboard update for Fall 2012 quietly increased the flash drive storage capacity from the 16GB implemented in 2010 to 32GB.
Just increase the friend cap, that's all I really want :/
It was a max of 32GB using 2 16GB USBs, is it now 64GB using 2 32GB USBs?
Not sure what that has to do with the friend cap...
Wow 32 whole GB. Now I feel really privileged. Thankful old great Microsoft, you are truly too kind. I was going to buy that 320GB hard drive for the low price of $130 before tax, but now I can just hold off on that because I can now use 32GB. Thank you so much for your kindness.
You sound like you are being pretty sarcastic. Do you even own an Xbox? This is great news for me, as I can save all installed games on my hard drive whilst putting all demos, videos, DLC on the USB. I have a few 16gb's lying around, so I'm very happy it has been increased.
I own a 360 and a PS3. I brought the 4GB 360 and upgraded my hard drive to the 320GB one later on. I messed around with the whole 16GB thing for a while, but it wasn't good enough. Honestly, I don't see why Microsoft refuses to not allow us to use our own hard drive like Sony does. It would be one thing if piracy was the issue, but the 360 has already been hacked. I just think that this is another one of Microsoft's poor policies.
"Honestly, I don't see why Microsoft refuses to not allow us to use our own hard drive like Sony does. It would be one thing if piracy was the issue, but the 360 has already been hacked. I just think that this is another one of Microsoft's poor policies. " Now ask yourself, who's policy was it to make the memory cards proprietary for Vita? Perhaps you should have bought a new Xbox 360 with a large hard drive in the first place since you already knew the price of a standalone hard drive was already pricey. I agree, it would be nice like the PS3 but it isn't and hasn't been for 7 years. E-Bay is your new best friend. You can buy a new 320GB hard drive from a top seller with free shipping for $60. I find it rather ironic how we have a good news story about them doubling the size only to keep hearing 7 years later how the hard drives are too expensive.
@cleft5 Didn't mean to sound like I was interrogating you, but I myself find it useful. I do agree with you though, that Microsoft should let you use more 3rd party HDD. The only ones I could find for me in Australia were those cheap ones from China, and while Microsoft don't mind *ATM*, they can technically disable those Hard Drives through firmware updates (I asked Microsoft directly, and I think they have done it with some other devices thus far)>
Hey man, you can order a 320 gig Xbox 360 HDD for the new slim model for $65 here http://dx.com/p/genuine-xbo... I'm not sure where you are getting your price point from. We have the internet at our disposal, I think everyone should shop around before buying anything, you can always find a deal on things like that. I bought one and its served me well for over a year now. Last year on Black Friday I bought a 4 gig Xbox 360 for $99 and then bought that HDD for $65, so I ended up with a 320 gig Xbox 360 for under $200. Not too shabby.
I checked my pricing at Amazon.com. I just checked that website and those are some great prices and free shipping. I am bookmarking that site for sure.
http://www.amazon.com/320GB... - $47 bucks - I just had the neighbor buy one for his son, works like a champ
I use 16 gb flash to instal games. And this news is great for me
Man a whole 32 gigs wao and to think i barely have 500 gigs in my ps3 and is almost full
Mehh. 4gb Xbox is $199 but the 250GB is $249 here in Canada. Its more worthwhile just spending the extra $50 like what I am planning to do
That's great if you're Mom & Dad aren't buying it for you... But for those who got the 4GB w/Kinect bundles, this is surely welcome news alongside Halo's release and requiring a HDD installation. Not like most will know about flash drives and will likely put down money for a new HDD anyway.

Amazing! It's like having 16GB, but double!
